Chapter 111
No, it’s not that!”
He fixed his gaze on her. “Then what is it?”
Anastasia’s lips quivered. She looked like she might cry as she mumbled, “My mouth… it tastes so bitter
Harrison said nothing.
When she came out of the kitchen, Anastasia hesitated-once, twice-then couldn’t hold it in any longer. She lowered her voice, “How are you so… so good at that?”
“What?” Harrison turned, glancing down at her.
She fidgeted, cheeks pink. “I mean when you… kissed me. Why are you so good at it? Did you practice on… other women before me?”
The thought suddenly struck her: Harrison had been married several times before her.
Had he… done anything with them?
Picturing it—the way he kissed her, as if he’d learned it from someone else— made her feel miserable.
Lost in these thoughts, she didn’t realize he’d tilted her chin up. Harrison’s eyes met hers. “Are you jealous, Ana?”
Her face flushed bright red. She puffed up, trying to sound bold. “Of course I’m jealous! So what?”
He just smiled, then leaned down to kiss her again and whispered, “You’re adorable.”
Her ears burned. She clung to his sleeve, barely audible. “But… you really didn’t kiss them?” The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the
“No,” he answered simply.
She blinked, unconvinced. “No? Then how did you… um, learn? Your… technique Her suspicious gaze lingered on him.
Harrison didn’t even flinch. “I never learned.”
Logan happened to walk by just then. His face twisted for a second, but he managed—with ten years of self-control-not to burst out laughing, keeping his expression perfectly neutral.
Never learned, indeed. Everyone in the house knew Mr. Harrison Lancaster was a neat freak; he would never touch those women. He’d only secretly watched a few instructional videos, earnestly studying while his new wife was none the wiser.
“Never learned?” Anastasia’s pretty eyes widened, still skeptical. But then she thought it over. Her husband was too proud to lie about something like this, and with his brains, maybe he really was a natural-born kisser.
The thought made her a little proud, too.
Hand in hand, Harrison led her outside, giving Logan a sidelong glance as they passed. The silent warning in his eyes made Logan instantly lower his head and pretend he’d seen nothing.
The day’s events left Anastasia in high spirits.
That night, there was more good news. A message popped up from “Q” on the forum-her teacher from her previous life-saying that she’d finally found the rare ingredient Anastasia needed!
Anastasia was overjoyed.
Ever since she’d checked Harrison’s pulse and realized his illness could be cured, she’d started gathering everything she’d need. Many of the rare ingredients were out of reach for ordinary people, so she’d turned to the experts in the field.
In the end, she’d asked her old teacher for help. Her teacher, who’d already seen amazing results using the medicine on her own son, now treated Anastasia as a lifesaver and had agreed without hesitation.
Anastasia never expected her teacher would find the ingredient so quickly!
After a flurry of grateful messages, Anastasia left her address so the medicine could be mailed to her.
Meanwhile, in the Austin family home-
Bruno Austin studied the list of medicinal ingredients Anastasia had given him. The list wasn’t complete-she could find some of the herbs herself but when he’d gently inquired about the rest, she’d answered him honestly.
“Incredible he murmured.
He didn’t know what illness Anastasia was trying to treat, but just looking at her bold combinations was enough to leave him deeply impressed.
