Chapter 332
Harrison’s steely heart softened just a little. He could only say, “Next time, watch where you’re going.”
With that, he bent down and swept her up in his arms, carrying her securely down the stairs.
It was only then that Anastasia noticed Juliet, Maggie, and Sandra waiting below. Her eyes lit up and a smile played at her lips. “Juliet, Maggie, Sandra-what brings you here?”
“Obviously, something happened! Anastasia, you have no idea-”
The moment they saw her, the three girls seemed to finally relax. Maggie wasted
no time, launching into a rapid-fire account of everything that had happened.
Harrison’s tone was icy. “Don’t worry. I’ll have Logan take care of it.”
Whoever had the nerve to set up his wife might as well be dead already.
But suddenly, Anastasia spoke up. “No need!”
Harrison looked at her, surprised.
Anastasia remained calm and confident. She nuzzled her head against his chest. “I think I know who it is. I’ll handle this myself. There’s no need for you to step in, Hubby. Honestly, she’s not worth your time.”
Harrison gazed at her, his expression deepening. He ruffled her hair. “Alright.” Read full story at.net
If his wife wanted to solve this on her own, he’d give her that chance.
Still, after seeing how much pain she’d been in earlier, Harrison wasn’t comfortable letting her rush back to school. He insisted she take the night off from classes.
It wasn’t until the next day, when Anastasia was back on her feet, color returned to her cheeks, that Harrison finally agreed to let her attend class.
But as soon as she walked into school, she was met by a barrage of suspicious and disdainful stares.
Unfazed, Anastasia sought out Juliet and Maggie, asking, “Where’s Helen?”
They immediately caught her meaning-Anastasia suspected Helen was involved in this mess.
Maggie’s fingers flew across her phone. In no time, she had the answer.
“She’s in the gym. Penelope and Shirley have PE today, and Helen switched classes just to join them!”
It had to be Helen. She’d always been an opportunist-Anastasia had helped her countless times, treated her as a friend, and Helen had repaid her by stabbing her in the back.
Everyone knew there was tension between Anastasia, Shirley, and Penelope. Now Helen was sucking up to them, trying to win favor by betraying Anastasia? That was just like her.
Anastasia nodded. “Let’s go.”
With several classmates joining in, the group stormed toward the gym, an unmistakable sense of purpose in their stride.
People noticed. Recognizing Anastasia, a crowd quickly formed-students trailing behind, phones out, messaging friends. By the time they reached the gym, a sizable audience had gathered.
Inside, class hadn’t started yet. Helen was in the middle of Shirley’s clique, clustered close to Shirley.
The commotion of Anastasia’s arrival caught everyone’s attention at once.
Helen turned, her face blanching slightly as she realized her secret might be out. But when she glanced at Shirley beside her, confidence returned. She wasn’t alone anymore-no reason to fear Anastasia.
Helen straightened, not just unruffled, but with a smirk of open defiance.
Anastasia’s expression didn’t change. She strode forward, ignoring Shirley completely, her gaze icy as she fixed it on Helen.
“Was it you who spread the rumor I was kept by a married man?”
