Chapter 812
Anastasia walked out calmly, knowing that her bid to become Gideon’s apprentice would likely fail.
In her past life, she had first studied under Bruno, but he eventually felt he couldn’t teach her alone and thought of Gideon.
However, Gideon had looked down on her, rejecting her outright and taking Queena as his student instead, claiming Queena was his ideal apprentice.
This was because Queena had supposedly cured several impossibly difficult cases, cementing her reputation as a genius.
But no one knew that the person who had actually cured those patients was her. Queena was nothing more than a shameless thief!
After Anastasia left, Gideon shook his head. “I only agreed to see her because you were singing her praises to the high heavens. But if these are her only accomplishments, I’m afraid it’s not enough to convince me.”
Bruno continued to plead her case. “She’s young, so of course she doesn’t have a long list of achievements. But her talent is undeniable. If you have doubts, you can test her right here and now.”
Gideon considered it for a moment, but still refused.
Bruno sensed something was amiss. “Even if she doesn’t meet your expectations, she’s still exceptionally gifted. Yet you won’t even consider her. Have you already chosen another apprentice?”
Gideon admitted it freely. “That’s right.”
“Who is it?”
“I don’t know her identity yet; I’m still investigating,” Gideon said. Seeing Bruno’s confusion, he continued, “You must have heard that Mr. Harrison Lancaster has been cured, right?”
“What? Cured?” Bruno was astonished.
It was worth noting that although Anastasia frequented the Austin family, she had never deliberately mentioned her relationship with Harrison.
So, Bruno still had no idea that Harrison was Anastasia’s husband.
“Yes, cured. And they say the person who cured him was a young girl!”
Gideon’s tone was full of admiration.
“You and I both personally tried to treat Mr. Harrison Lancaster, so we know how difficult his case was. For a young girl to succeed where we failed that is true genius! That is. the kind of want to take ont
Bruno finally understood.

Gideon had always been proud and had impossibly high standards, demanding only the best in everything. It was only natural that this would apply to his choice of apprentice as well.
With such a candidate in mind, it made sense that he would overlook Anastasia.
Still, he tried one last time for her. “You might not be able to find this person and even if you do, the might not be a suitable fit. If
possible, I still hope you’ll consider
Anastasia.”
Gideon gave a noncommittal nod. “Alright, Anastasia, was it? I’ll observe her performance for a while before making a decision. If she’s as brilliant as you say, I suppose taking on two apprentices isn’t out of the question.”
५
The two were talking in a small, open lounge, completely unaware that someone was eavesdropping from outside.
When Queena heard Gideon say he would consider Anastasia, she gritted her teeth
in fury.
It was bad enough with Bruno and Aubrey, but now Gideon was considering her too?
No, she absolutely could not let Anastasia get into Gideon’s good graces. Otherwise, with the three masters fawning over her, where would that leave Queena?!
Queena’s eyes darkened. She peeked inside one last time before turning and slipping away without a sound.
