As they were talking, a maid came to announce that Queena had arrived.
A smile immediately spread across Cheryl’s face as she eagerly went to greet her. “She’s finally here! With her treating her, Mom’s legs are sure to recover!”
She met Queena at the door, and the two shared an embrace. “Queena, thank you so much for making this trip!”
Queena smiled with grace and poise. “We’re friends, aren’t we? Don’t mention it.”
Nelson also came forward to greet her. His attitude toward this renowned medical prodigy was far more respectful than it had been toward Anastasia.
After some pleasantries, they went to see the family matriarch.
Nelson and Cheryl had placed all their hopes on Queena, and Queena herself was quite confident. But as soon as she examined the elderly woman, her heart sank.
Cheryl had described her mother’s condition to her beforehand, and she had even consulted several medical texts, thinking the visit would be straightforward.
But Mrs. West Sr.’s condition was completely different from any of the possibilities she had anticipated!
In fact, she couldn’t find anything wrong at all!
“Queena, how is it? Can you treat her?” Cheryl asked anxiously.
Queena maintained her composure. “Let me take another look.”
She stubbornly continued her examination, but after some time, she was still completely stumped.
With both Nelson and Cheryl watching her expectantly, she could only sigh and shake her head. “Dr. Lee is a truly skilled physician. He was right; it’s untreatable.”
Cheryl couldn’t accept it. “Even you can’t treat it?!”
Queena replied apologetically, “I’m sorry.”
She admitted it frankly this time because Dr Lee was no ordinary doctor. Since he had been so certain it was incurable, her inability to find a solution now would simply be attributed to fate, not a lack of skill on her part.
Nelson and Cheryl were deeply disappointed.
Cheryl couldn’t help but think of Anastasia. To this day, Anastasia was the only one who had said she might have a way…
She hesitated for a moment. “Queena, do you happen to know an Anastasia?”
Anastasia?
Queena was surprised to hear that name from Cheryl’s lips.
“Of course. I haven’t mentioned it, but she’s actually my sister.”
“What?” Cheryl was shocked and immediately began asking about Anastasia’s medical skills.
Queena shook her head with a helpless expression. “I don’t know how she got recommended to treat your mother, but I can tell you for a fact that she’s been ignorant tand unskilled her whole life. She has no reat ability.”
“The idea that she could treat your mother is absolutely preposterous! She’s always been reckless and has. no regard for her patients” safety. Cheryl, you mustn’t be deceived by hert”
Cheryl instantly felt a wave of relief. That was a close call. She had almost considered asking Anastasia to come back and try again. Thank goodness she had asked first!
After seeing Queena off, Nelson fretted for a long time before reluctantly deciding to call Bruno.
“Mr. Austin Sr., we’re truly at a loss here. Do you have any idea when you’ll be back? I’m afraid my mother’s illness will depend on you.”
Bruno was overseas, having just finished a conference. He was a little surprised by Nelson’s plea. “The student I sent, was she not able to help?”
