Chapter 199
Anastasia gave a small, amused smile. “Really?”
“Yeah,” another girl replied, lowering her voice conspiratorially. “Heard she took a whole month off. No idea if she’ll even show her face again!”
“If I were her, I’d never come back,” someone else chimed in, openly scornful.

“At least Samuel’s got a thicker skin. He’s here today as if nothing happened
But Sandra wasn’t in class. Since she and Maggie were close, Maggie confided that Sandra hadn’t been doing well lately and had decided to take a couple of days off.
As for Penelope’s fate, Anastasia wasn’t the least bit surprised.
But what did catch her attention was that, up until now, Gabriel hadn’t called her- not even once to demand why she’d supposedly set up his precious daughter.
It seemed that Nora and her mother weren’t faring too well in the Sterling family these days.
After they finished gossiping about that pair of troublemakers, the conversation shifted-
“Did you hear? There’s a freshman this year who’s supposed to be absolutely incredible!”
“I heard about her too-the one from the welcome party, right?”
“Yeah! After we left, there was a piano performance. One of the freshman girls went up and played, and some famous maestro happened to walk by and complimented her in front of everyone. She completely stole the show!”
“I saw her photos on the school forum-she’s gorgeous. And according to people from her department, her family background is really impressive. She’s basically become the new campus queen overnight!”
“Anastasia, do you want to see her picture?”
Maggie was already scrolling through the forum, ready to show her.
But just then, the bell rang, signaling the start of class. Anastasia didn’t care much for the gossip anyway and waved her off. “Maybe later.”
-If she had glanced at Maggie’s phone, she would have realized the girl in the photo was none other than Alice.
After class, Anastasia was gathering her things to leave when Maggie called out, “Anastasia, wait up-!”
Anastasia turned around.
“We’re heading out for some shopping. Want to come with us?”
Maggie looked hopeful, encouraged by Anastasia’s friendliness earlier.
But Anastasia shook her head. “You guys go ahead. I’ve got plans.”
Maggie’s shoulders slumped in disappointment.
“What plans?” teased another girl. “You always rush off after class. Don’t tell me you’re meeting your boyfriend?”
Anastasia’s entire expression softened, her eyes brightening with a distinctly
sweet smile. She admitted cheerfully, “That’s right!”
She had Harrison-her husband. It was hardly something to hide. If he’d let her,
she’d probably have blurted out even more details.
Maggie and the others gasped, immediately crowding around her.
“You have a boyfriend?!”
“Who is it? Does he go to our school? You’ve kept this so quiet!”
“He doesn’t go here,” Anastasia replied, her lips curving in a secretive smile. “That’s all I’m saying for now. Maybe I’ll tell you more someday!”
She checked her watch and couldn’t hide her excitement. “I have to go-bye!”
She swept out of the classroom, leaving Maggie and the others buzzing with excitement, speculating wildly about who her mysterious boyfriend could be.
The guys in class, meanwhile, were kicking themselves. The campus goddess had barely arrived before someone else had already snatched her up. Who was this lucky guy who’d beaten them all to the punch?
In the corner, Helen glared daggers at Anastasia’s retreating back.
Boyfriend? Please. More like a sugar daddy.
Just another kept woman pretending to be someone’s girlfriend. Shameless.
Unaware of all this, Anastasia hurried back to her apartment, barely able to contain her excitement as she reached the door.
“Hubby, I’m home-”
But her words died on her lips. Sitting in the living room was not Harrison, but someone who absolutely shouldn’t have been there-Gabriel.
