Chapter 715
Gwen was incredibly curious about Anastasia’s boyfriend and wanted to ask about his identity. But seeing that Anastasia didn’t bring it up herself, she worried it might be a sensitive topic and forced herself to suppress her curiosity.
Instead, she started reminiscing about their high school days.
For Anastasia, that felt like a lifetime ago. Many of the memories were no longer sharp, and thinking about them brought a faint sense of wistfulness.
Just as they were enjoying their chat, Logan suddenly appeared. “Ma’am, we should be heading back,” he said respectfully. “It’s time to leave for tonight’s auction.”
Anastasia glanced at her phone. The time was indeed getting late. She smiled at Gwen. “I have to go, but let’s do this again soon.”
Gwen nodded eagerly and stood up to walk her out, sneaking several glances at Logan, truly stunned by the formality of it all.
Even though she’d realized Anastasia’s husband’s family was likely extraordinary when he first appeared, it was only now, seeing Logan’s respectful and careful demeanor, that the reality of it truly sank in.
She quietly followed them out and saw Logan personally open the car door for Anastasia. After their car pulled away, a second car full of bodyguards followed right behind it!
Gwen’s eyes widened.
Oh my god, Anastasia had really made it big!
The auction was being held on a massive and luxurious cruise ship, and only those with an invitation were allowed to attend.
Because of this exclusive entry requirement, everyone who boarded the ship was someone of note. So when Anastasia arrived on Harrison’s arm, she saw elegantly dressed men and women everywhere.
She couldn’t quite understand it. Did people really need to dress so formally just for an auction?
Harrison explained, “There’s a gala after the auction.”
“Oh,” Anastasia said, understanding now.
“Mr. Harrison Lancaster!” A middle-aged man suddenly appeared, hurrying over with his staff. His attitude was extremely respectful, tinged with a hint of delighted surprise.
“I never imagined you would grace us with your presence! Please, this way!”
The man was Cedric Miller, the organizer of tonight’s auction. He had sent an invitation to Harrison as a matter of
never daring to
dream that Mr. Harrison Lancaster
would actually attend.
Cedric was both shocked and thrilled as he personally led Harrison onto the cruise ship.
“Harrison!”
They had just boarded when they heard Marcus’s voice. Anastasia looked up and saw Marcus leaning, against the railing on the observation deck above, waving at them with a wide grin.
Next to him stood the refined and distinguished Barnett.
Tyrone wasn’t with them today; apparently, his agent had dragged him away to fill in
on some show at the last minute.
“Hubby, let’s go up there too!” Anastasia said, tugging on Harrison’s arm and
pointing to where Marcus and Barnett were. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ.net
Harrison replied, “It’s windy up there. You’ll catch a cold.”
The early spring weather was still chilly. She was wearing a formal gown today; and he had been so worried about her getting cold when they got out of the car that he had
someone bring a coat for hepto wear.
Anastasia’s pretty features drooped in disappointment.
Harrison couldn’t stand to see her like that. “Alright, fine,” he sighed. “But you’re changing into a warmer coat first.”
He then looked at Cedric.
Cedric was still reeling from hearing Anastasia call Harrison “Hubby.” When he met the man’s gaze, he quickly snapped back to attention. “Yes, of course, I’ll have someone get
Harrison said, “This is my wife.”
Cedric was startled and quickly glanced at Anastasia, but he didn’t dare waste a second. “Please wait a moment, Ma’am. I’ll have someone bring a coat for you right away!”
