Chapter 641
“My mistake was lying to you… for deceiving you Anastasia mumbled, her energy completely gone as she couldn’t help but glance out the window.
Logan and Marcus showed no signs of coming over to help.
“So you’re perfectly aware of what you did,” Harrison said flatly, his gaze following hers. His voice was laced with ice. “And you even knew to pull others into your scheme. Should I praise you for being so clever?”
If she had disappeared alone and claimed she was on a trip, her story would have unraveled during the first phone call. But with Marcus and Logan involved, it lent her story an air of credibility. If he hadn’t sensed something was off during their second call, he might have actually been fooled.
Anastasia privately thought she *had* been quite clever, but she would never dare say it aloud. Sensing his anger beginning to simmer, she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck, tilted her head back, and peppered his chin with soft, quick kisses.
“I know I was wrong, Hubby. You can punish me, but please don’t be angry with yourself. I’d be so worried if you made yourself sick
Harrison was speechless.
Did he look like he was incapable of punishing her? Or like he was just going to stew in his own anger?
Her attempt at a strategic retreat was clumsy at best. She put on a pitiful expression, but her eyes were still secretly darting up to gauge his reaction.
Yet, even knowing it was an act, he found his resolve softening as he looked at her sad, pleading face.
His eyes darkened for a moment before he pinched her cheek, his tone gruff. “Get out of the car.”
Anastasia’s eyes lit up. She scrambled out of the car and darted around to the other side, beating the bodyguard to it and pulling the door open for him. “Hubby, come on out!”
Harrison shot a glance at her fawning, eager-to-please antics but made no comment.

“It’s too late to drive back tonight; it wouldn’t be safe,” she said, taking his arm and leading him toward the research institute. “Joseph has. already arranged a place for us to stay. We’ll spend the right here and head back tomorrow.”
Across the way, Logan and Marcus stood frozen, not daring to approach or to leave. When they saw Anastasia leading Harrison out of the can and toward them, they felt a desperate urge to turn and run. But the thought of the consequences kept their feet rooted to the spot.
The three of them were standing directly under a streetlamp. As Anastasia and Harrison drew closer, Harrison’s figure became sharp and clear in the bright light.
Joseph’s heart skipped a beat when he saw him. It wasn’t just his looks, but the man’s commanding presence was impossible to ignore.
Joseph hurried forward. “Ms. Sterling, and this is?”
Anastasia cleared her throat, tightening her hold on Harrison’s arm. “This is my husband,” she said, a little sheepishly. “He was worried about me being out here alone, so he came to find me. You dont need
to arrange another room, he’ll be
staying with me.”
Learning Harrison’s identity was a surprise, but Joseph kept his composure,
simply offering a respectful greeting. Content orıginally comes from
Harrison gave a slight nod. “Mr. White.”
After a brief exchange, his gaze finally shifted to Logan and Marcus.
Logan maintained a calm facade, though he had to force the words out. “Ah, Mr. Lancaster.”
Marcus, on the other hand, forced a wide, tense smile, his voice a little too loud. “Ha, Harrison! It’s so late. What brings you all the way out here?”
“What brings me here? You don’t know?”
Logan and Marcus fell silent at once.
