“I’m fully recovered, thanks to you,” Lester said, his gaze fixed intently on her.
An indescribable joy surged within him. He hadn’t known how to find her, and now, to meet her so randomly like this—it had to be fate, right…..?
“My name is Lester,” he said, extending his hand in a formal introduction.
Anastasia graciously shook his hand. “I’m Anastasia.”
“I can’t believe I’m only just now learning your name…..” Lester said with a hint of regret. “I’ve been wanting to repay you for your kindness. Could I have the chance to treat you to a meal?”
His eyes were full of hope, but Anastasia shook her head apologetically. “It’s getting late, and I have to head home. Maybe next time?”
Though disappointed, the promise of a “next time” made Lester smile happily. “Alright.”
They exchanged contact information before Anastasia left with her cousin.
Juliet, holding Anastasia’s arm, glanced back and saw Lester still standing there, watching them leave. The focused, lingering look in his eyes made her heart skip a beat.
She quickly turned back. “Anastasia, who is he?”
“An old patient. I treated him back in Fairhaven. I never thought I’d run into him here.”
As Anastasia spoke, she suddenly remembered the antique-looking pendant Lester had sent to Rosewood Manor before he left.
Not only did it look expensive, but it seemed to be something he had worn for many years. If it weren’t for that, Harrison wouldn’t have gotten so jealous.
Now that she had met him again, it was best to return it.
With that in mind, the moment she got home, Anastasia started searching everywhere for it.
But Harrison had someone put it away, and she had no idea where. She searched high and low but couldn’t find it.
Just as she was about to call Logan to ask, Harrison came home from work.
Noticing the signs of a search, he casually asked, “What are you looking for?”
Anastasia glanced at him and said as calmly as she could, “Remember that patient in Fairhaven who sent me a pendant? Where did it go?”
Harrison’s hand, which was loosening his tie, paused slightly. He walked over and hung up his jacket. “What do you need that for?”
Meeting his deep, unreadable eyes,

Four days passed in the blink of an eye.
On the day of the test, Harrison happened to have a business trip out of town, so Anastasia could leave with him.
She hadn’t gotten enough sleep and couldn’t stop yawning as soon as she got in the
car.
“Get some sleep.” Harrison pressed her into his embrace, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “I’ll wake you when we get there.”
Anastasia nodded obediently and fell asleep peacefully in his arms.
Sleeping somewhere other than a bed always felt surprisingly comfortable.
Anastasia slept very soundly, feeling perfectly comfortable in Harrison’s
embrace. When he woke her, she
had
thought a long time.. has passed, but
it had been less than an hour.
She looked out the window and saw the imposing entrance of the Global Harmony Medical Institute headquarters.
“Hubby, when will you be back?” she asked, clinging to Harrison, unwilling to let go.
