Anastasia raised an eyebrow, looking the girl over before recognition dawned.
“Shirley West?”

Shirley’s entire body tensed with caution.
Anastasia pretended not to notice, replying casually, “I was here for a small matter.”
Thinking of Mrs. West Sr. and Shirley’s timely appearance, a thought occurred to her. “You’re one of the Wests?”
Shirley gave her a look that screamed, *’Isn’t it obvious?’* “Of course I’m a West, you’ve known that for ages! My father is Nelson, the head of the West family. You must have known that!”
She tilted her chin up proudly, but halfway through the motion, she remembered who Anastasia was connected to and instinctively lowered it again, not daring to seem too arrogant.
What a coincidence.
Anastasia raised an eyebrow but said nothing more. The elevator arrived, and she waved goodbye as she stepped inside.
She had been delayed for quite some time and assumed Harrison would be long gone, but when she got downstairs, she found him waiting in the lobby.
He was sitting comfortably on a sofa, his relaxed posture doing little to conceal his powerful aura. A few other men, clearly influential figures in the business world, sat with him, engaged in what looked like a pleasant conversation. A ring of bodyguards and assistants stood by, making it look like a summit of titans.
Logan, standing by Harrison’s side, spotted Anastasia the moment she stepped out of the elevator. “Mr. Lancaster, your wife is here.”
Harrison immediately stopped talking and looked toward her.
The moment their eyes met, a smile instinctively blossomed on Anastasia’s face. “Hubby!”
A faint smile touched Harrison’s lips.
Anastasia hurried to his side. “Why are you still here? Were you waiting for me?”
Harrison didn’t deny it. He took her hand and asked softly, “Is everything taken care of?”
“All done!”
Harrison then politely addressed the men beside him. “Gentlemen, I’m afraid I have to take my leave. We’ll catch up another time.”
The men quickly rose, and after a brief exchange of pleasantries, Harrison led Anastasia away, his hand in hers, speaking to her with gentle patience.
“Did things go smoothly?”
“Smoothly enough, I suppose,” Anastasia said.
“Enough?” Harrison caught the nuance in her tone, his expression hardening. “Did someone give you trouble?”
Anastasia smiled. “They weren’t
giving me trouble, they were making trouble for themselves. Just you
wait they’ll come begging formy

If Mrs. West Sr.’s condition were so easy to treat, it wouldn’t have remained
incurable in her past life, forcing them to seek her out as a last resort.
So, she wasn’t truly angry about Cheryl’s attitude. The way they dismissed her now,
they’d have to pay it all back when they begged her to return.
But while she could be
magnanimous, Harrison couldn’t let
as
it slide. His eyes darkened slightly he gave Logan a subtle glance, signaling him to find out who had invited his Ana today only to end up upsetting her.
Logan gave a slight, understanding nod.
“Hubby, when did your lunch meeting end? Did you just wait down here for me for
two hours?” Anastasia asked, concerned.
Knowing she was being thoughtful,
worried that he might be neglecting his work, Harrison said, “I had nothing urgent this afternoon, and I happened to run into a few.. acquaintances. We ended up discussing some business, so it wasn’t all just waiting for you.”
Anastasia hummed. “Liar.”
