Chapter 844
Anastasia smiled coldly. “If I dare to say it, of course I have proof!”
With that, she gestured behind her, and soon, Mr. and Mrs. Hill were escorted into the hall.
The moment they saw Steven, their eyes turned red with hatred.
“Steven! You quack who kills people! How have you not faced justice yet?!”
Mrs. Hill shouted to everyone present, “Steven is a quack! Five years ago, his misdiagnosis killed my son! He has no real skills! You can’t let him into the Global Harmony Medical Institute—he’ll kill more innocent people!”
Steven’s face went pale. He couldn’t believe Anastasia had managed to dig this up!
“I didn’t do it! Misdiagnosis, killing someone I never did any of that! It’s obvious Anastasia paid you to come here and frame me!”
Anastasia watched him with a mocking expression, not bothering to refute his claims. Instead, she glanced towards the entrance.
In the next second, a team of police officers stormed in. “Steven, our investigation has linked you to a medical malpractice case. Please come with us!”
The hall erupted in an uproar!
Steven’s face turned ashen.
Anastasia’s lips curved into a smirk.
Hmph, did he really think she was just here to argue?
Steven was swiftly escorted away by the police.
Anastasia then turned her gaze to Queena.
Everyone else instinctively looked at Queena and the other professors who had vouched for Steven.
With Steven taken away, did that mean everything Anastasia said was true? That Steven really had caused a death through misdiagnosis and was completely unqualified to join the Institute?
Queena and the other professors’ faces were stiff with shock.
She shot a venomous glare at Anastasia.
Anastasia simply smiled back at her.
“Queena, do you and the others have anything to say?” The vice dean’s face had already darkened.
Queena stammered, “Dean, I…”
“Dean, it was Queena who asked us for help!”
Queena had barely started speaking when one of the other professors interrupted her.
Anyone who would accept her bribe was hardly a person of integrity. Seeing that things were going south, they didn’t hesitate to throw all the blame onto her.
“I don’t know Steven well, I’d only heard he had a good reputation! I had no idea he was a fraud who caused someone’s death through misdiagnosis! It was Queena who came to me and guaranteed he was more than qualified for the Institute. That’s the only reason I agreed to help!”
“Yes, yes! also only agreed because Queena praised him so highly. I was acting on the principle of recruiting another excellent professor for our Institute
“We’ve been wronged!”
Hearing these explanations, the vice dean’s expression softened slightly.
Corruption involving a group was a different matter from corruption by a single individual.
“Queena, do you have anything to say?!”
Queena’s face was on the verge of cracking. She looked at the other professors
with a mixture of fury and disbelief. “You…!”
She opened her mouth, ready to
expose them for taking bribes, but then stopped herself. Accepting bribes to bend the rules wasnt a dead end, but if she dragged several other professors down with her, her future at the Institute would be over.
So she swallowed her anger and said through gritted teeth, “Yes, the professors were unaware…”
As for herself, the fact that she knew Steven and was friends with him was nearly impossible to deny, so she had to resign herself to her fate.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe Queena is that kind of person.”
