Chapter 861
“I had a good friend at Haven House named Letitia. Mr. Jackson’s fiancée looks exactly like her p>
Haven House?
Anastasia’s eyes glinted. She was now almost certain-Yolanda had to be Letitia.
It was too much of a coincidence.
Haven House in Fairhaven was the orphanage her mother had sponsored. Before her mother passed away, she and Juliet would often go with her to play with the other children.
After her mother was gone, her relationship with the Brennan family became strained, and she stopped visiting the orphanage. As a result, she didn’t remember many of the children there.
But she did remember that Juliet loved to go.
“I met Letitia when I started going to the orphanage by myself. She arrived after you had stopped coming,” Juliet explained. “You wouldn’t know her p>
“Letitia and I were very close. I used to bring her home to play all the time. Then one time, I was sick for a week, and when I went back, she was gone. The director said she’d been adopted, and I lost contact with her after that p>
“Anastasia, do you think Mr. Jackson’s fiancée could be Letitia p>
Juliet’s voice was filled with excitement and hope at the prospect of reuniting with her childhood friend.
Anastasia didn’t have the heart to point out the obvious. It seemed Yolanda was indeed Letitia, and she had clearly recognized Juliet but had shown no intention of acknowledging their past.
In fact, her strange behavior suggested she was hiding something, as if she had a guilty conscience p>
“Anastasia, do you think Letitia recognized me? I want to—ah p>
Before Juliet could finish, Anastasia heard a scream through the phone, followed by
the violent sound of a collision and the screech of tires.
Anastasia’s face paled. She shot up from her seat. “Juliet p>
There was no response from the other end.
Juliet had been in a car when she called. Was it a car crash p>
Clutching her phone tightly, Anastasia raced downstairs, yelling for the driver to get the car ready.
By the time, Anastasia arrived, Juliet had already been taken to the
hospital Miraculously she had).ne
sustained any serious injuries, only fainting from the impact.
And just as Anastasia rushed into the hospital room, Juliet was waking up.
“Anastasia p>
Seeing Juliet on the bed with only a few scrapes, otherwise unharmed, the heavy weight on Anastasia’s chest finally lifted.
She rushed forward and gently held Juliet by the shoulders. “Are you hurt anywhere p>
Juliet looked shaken. Seeing Anastasia’s worry, she quickly shook her head. “No, just a slight concussion. Don’t worry, Anastasia p>
Anastasia wasn’t convinced and gave her a thorough check from head to toe Seeing that she really was okay, she finally regained her composure.
Her face turned grim. “What happened p>
“I don’t know. I was on the phone with you when a car suddenly slammed into us.
Thank goodness our driver reacted quickly, otherwise I p>
Anastasia’s expression remained unchanged as she comforted Juliet for a moment before stepping out of the room.
The crash had involved more than
just Juliet’s car, but the others hadn’t been as lucky. She asked around and learned that two people were critically injured and stiff in surgery, one of them a child of four or five.
And the driver responsible was a drunk-driving rich kid.
Anastasia’s eyes darkened. She stepped aside and made a call, requesting the surveillance footage from the accident scene.
