Chapter 1006
Chapter 1015:
“Damn it!” Raul cursed as he kicked at the glass door nearby.
Bang! The shattering sound of the glass breaking echoed through the corridor.
Raul had always been easygoing and never unleashed his anger so forcefully. He couldn’t forget Milton’s unwavering support for him: the latter’s concern about the Hinks family’s affairs, the company established in his name, and the Denm project handed over to him, all comprising a substantial foundation for his ambitions.
Milton had transferred his shares and projects to him and his company. Milton had offered him a ride while he was to retaliate and had topped it all off by investing thirty billion dollars!
In different circumstances, Raul would have been overjoyed.
But now, he was worried for Milton, who had distanced himself and seemed lost.
Damn it! The situation was far more complex than Raul had initially thought.
Meanwhile, Milton was left alone in his office, still fixated on the snow-covered Sowley Mountain, lost in thought. He knew the predicament better than anyone did.
His father, Arlo, remained comatose, and his aunt stirred trouble within the family. Perhaps his grandfather was displeased with this, and his mother chose to endure it all.
At this moment, everything felt utterly meaningless.
The glory of the Royal Garden Corporation, his CEO position, his wealth, and the power to control everything felt hollow. What had he truly gained from it all?
Milton had never felt so impoverished, so empty!
He had driven away everyone who cared for him, isolating himself to bear the weight of his sorrows alone.

As nightfall descended upon the Sunset Apartment, Raul returned, finding himself in the peculiar living arrangement with Bettina. Though they still shared the same roof, they had chosen to sleep separately, each in their room. This was a silent acknowledgment of the shifting dynamics between them.
Raul, ever perceptive, had noticed Bettina’s distraction ever since her recent encounter with Bart. He tactfully avoided mentioning Bart at home to preserve her fragile facade of cheerfulness. Behind her usual smile lay a vulnerability she struggled to hide.
The past two days had been particularly trying for Bettina, compounded by the departure of Candice.
To lift her spirits, Raul arrived home that evening bearing an exquisite sushi set, hoping that the flavors could provide her with some solace.
Opening the door, Raul was met with the sight of Bettina sitting on the couch, lost in thought, clutching a pillow to her chest.
