Candice interjected, “Invite Mr. Glyn as well. And Mr. Hinks and Miss Reeves.”
Anson nodded. “Agreed. Let’s proceed.”
Only Milton was a bit annoyed. The dinner party had morphed into a business meeting.
He moved his hand lower, gripping Candice’s waist tightly.
He threatened, “You’re in for a lesson when we get home tonight.”
When she heard this, Candice’s earlobes started to heat up.
Candice used the acquisition case of Karen Steel Company to convene a board meeting. In fact, that was her ultimate purpose.
She looked around the hall and noticed Erica enter. Candice secretly heaved a sigh of relief, thinking that Erica had forgotten. Now that all the important people were present, Candice waited for the show to begin.
With quick steps, Erica rushed toward the banquet hall. Before she entered, she stopped and took a deep breath to relax. She had arrived by helicopter, which had landed on the helipad located on the top floor. She hoped she wasn’t too late. Since she had left in a hurry, Erica hadn’t had the time to dress up for the party. She came wearing her day suit. Even then, her dignity and elegant grace did not diminish.
Erica casually looked around. Candice and Milton made such a handsome couple that they stood out. She walked over to them.
Erica didn’t know what to do. Earlier in the evening, she had come to know something, completely by accident. She was in a dilemma and didn’t know who to tell. So she tried her best to control her emotions.
“Erica, you’re here,” Candice greeted her respectfully.
Milton narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing a shift in the atmosphere around him. Candice had suffered a miscarriage after his mother had pushed her down the stairs. From then on, to be distantly polite, Candice had addressed her as Mrs. Lopez. But now, she called his mother by her name. What the hell was going on?

The incident had been haunting him and Candice. Milton wasn’t able to handle the situation well.
It was then that he finally realized Candice came to the celebration party tonight with a purpose. It was very obvious Candice had invited Erica. Other than that, there was no reason for his mother to attend the party.
Milton pulled Candice to his side and muttered, “What are you up to?”
She replied in a hushed tone, “Don’t worry. You’ll come to know it soon enough.”
Milton frowned and looked at her. What was she hiding from him?
Soon, Boden arranged for a small meeting room and gathered the group’s important members. He also invited Bart, Raul, and Bettina to join them.
Anson went to Milton and Candice and invited them to the meeting. When he saw Erica, he greeted her with respect. “Mrs. Lopez, since you’re here, you can attend the meeting too.”
However, Erica wanted to refuse. She held shares in the Royal Garden Corporation, which she had traded for her shares in the Gonzalez Group when the two companies merged. But she never interfered in the company’s affairs, nor was she interested in the management. However, she understood the hint Candice had given. Perhaps this was the reason Candice had invited her.
