Chapter 835
Chapter 838:
In a flash of anger, Catherine reclaimed the document and reprimanded, “It’s not right to rummage through clients’ private matters without their consent. Goodbye.” Catherine was taken aback by Sigrid’s impolite behavior, especially considering Sigrid was part of a distinguished family. The lack of propriety shown by this high-society lady was genuinely startling.
Luckily, Catherine had only jotted down a few numbers in the book and spared herself from writing any crucial information. How else would she justify to Milton?
She slipped into the elevator, shutting the door behind her.
Grumbling under her breath, Catherine whined, “Who cares if I’m not from high society? Why does it matter that you’re from a prominent family? I’m yet to see any commendable or well-known work from you. If you were so accomplished, why hadn’t Mr. Lopez asked you to design the wedding gown? Why did he approach me, then? Humph!”
After releasing her frustration, Catherine recalled the anxious look on Sigrid’s face. Was Sigrid aspiring to marry Milton? Catherine scoffed. It was plain as day, considering the physical attributes, that the wedding dress was not meant for Sigrid. How could she be so presumptuous? How ridiculous it was!
Meanwhile, Sigrid stood frozen by the elevator door, her complexion drained. Was this truly happening? How could Milton be serious? Had he indeed commissioned a wedding dress for Candice? Did he really want to marry her?
Sigrid refused to accept it! She shook her head frantically. After all, getting married was a significant matter. But she hadn’t heard anything about it. She simply couldn’t believe it!
At this point, Blair approached Sigrid and informed her, “Miss Olson, I have been looking for you. Mr. Lopez has concluded his meeting. I have informed him of your arrival, and you may go in now.”
Surprised, Sigrid responded, “Alright, thank you.” She touched her face instinctively and tidied her hair, anxious not to let Milton sense her inner turmoil. Passing through the reflective corridor, Sigrid made sure she looked presentable.

Before she opened Milton’s office door, Sigrid took off her hat, placed it on the reception desk, and adjusted her dress.
The office, with its majestic silence and breathtaking views of distant snow-clad mountains, left Sigrid awestruck every time she visited. It was the central building, standing tall amongst the clouds, with a prime location. No one could challenge the Lopez family’s financial prowess. The moment she stepped into the office, a surge of ambition engulfed her, the desire to be the hostess of the place.
However, her bubble burst when she discovered that Milton had hired Catherine to design a wedding dress for Candice.
With fists clenched and a strong resolve to maintain her composure, she walked toward Milton’s desk and took a deep breath. “Milton, I would like you to see my latest design and give me your feedback.”
