Chapter 713
Chapter 713:
“Does Corless Warren live here?! This house is ours from now on!”
Cathy’s eyes widened in surprise as a crowd of unfamiliar people abruptly invaded her living space. “Who are you people? And what on earth are you doing?” She bellowed, “Put that down! Those are my things. You have no right to just take them. That vase was acquired by my mother from an auction. It holds considerable value! You’re nothing but thieves! I’m contacting the authorities!”
She propelled herself toward them and latched onto one man’s arm, holding on for dear life. She was desperate to stop them from taking away her precious art pieces. With a forceful kick, the man shoved Cathy aside. He barked, “Get the hell out of my path.”
A cry of distress escaped Cathy as she collapsed onto the floor, murmuring in pain. It was a level of rough treatment she had never experienced since her childhood.
“Who on earth are you? I’m alerting the police!” Cathy fumbled for her phone. “I’ll have the police here, and you’ll be in handcuffs!”
One bulky man strutted over and punted Cathy’s phone away.
“Calling the police? You might as well call the president, for all the good it would do! Settling debts is a natural process! It’s evident from this real estate contract that Corless mortgaged to us. He hasn’t paid the overdue interest for three months. As per our agreement, the property is ours. We are the rightful owners now, not you.”
The man shoved Cathy further back. “In fact, it’s you who needs to leave. Within an hour, gather your things and get out. Do not dare touch anything of value. This is all due to Corless Warren’s unpaid interest.”
He spun around then, commanding another, “Listen, clear these out and calculate their worth!”
Cathy was in disbelief that her brother had pawned off their family mansion. It was evident as daylight, right there in the documents. Goodness! How much debt had her brother accumulated?
When Warren Building Materials collapsed, every shareholder, including her parents, had received their share. There was even a special amount for their retirement, directly sent to the nursing home to ensure that their lives were comfortable. The Royal Garden Corporation had played their part to the fullest. Sadly, the buyout contract had no safety net for her and her brother.

Her bank balance wasn’t sufficient to repay her brother’s debts, and the figure staring back at her was an ominous negative.
Without this house, homelessness loomed ominously. Growing up in comfort, she had never prioritized getting a job after graduation or experienced hardship.
Reality seemed too harsh to bear.
As she lay motionless on the ground, she couldn’t help but feel that her family was utterly destroyed. News spread quickly, and soon, her home was swarmed by relentless creditors.
In a daze, she watched the chaotic scenes unfold. Each creditor tried to reclaim as much as they could. The valuables, the appliances, everything was taken.
All she had managed to save were some clothes, hastily packed in a suitcase before being evicted. Even the suitcase was snatched away, the creditors rifling through it for valuables. Finding none, they dumped her clothes haphazardly on the lawn.
