Madilyn, her hair a mess, appeared after hearing the noises. After the morning’s events, her face was pale, and Greyson had not comforted her.
The ballet troupe’s staff had kicked her and her belongings out.
She tasted rejection for the first time, much like the night Candice was expelled from the Harman household.
Damn! Madilyn was sure Candice was behind it. She must have told Milton something!
Madilyn felt a strong need for revenge.
Greyson, feeling down himself, couldn’t console Madilyn. Seeing her red and puffy eyes only made him more annoyed.
Sobbing, Madilyn approached him and asked, “Rey, why are you home so late?”
Rachel cleared her throat and said, “Excuse me, I’ll go back to my room now. You two can talk.”
Rachel quickly left after that. She wanted nothing to do with the issue. If Madilyn pushed further, she didn’t want to be forced into the role of a mediator.
Greyson hid the diary behind his back to keep it out of Madilyn’s sight.
“I had a long day at the hospital.”
“Rey…” Madilyn wanted to say more.
“Don’t stress about it,” Greyson interrupted abruptly. “I guarantee I can get you a simple position at Harmony Hospital. You could start as a clerk or a secretary.”
Madilyn couldn’t believe it. He was offering her a job at the hospital?
Was his intention to make her stop dancing?
Now, her former ballerina friends ridiculed and laughed at her. There was no way she would let that slide! When she was popular, everyone adored her. When she was weak, everyone turned against her.
They even helped remove her belongings from the building!
“Well, Grey, you can buy me another ballet troupe if you want. Even if the Black Swan Ballet Troupe isn’t as famous as the Royal Ballet Troupe, I’m willing to lead it. I refuse to stop ballet,” Madilyn said optimistically.
