After arriving at the law firm, Candice contacted the current owner of her former home.
As Bettina said, the owner of the villa intended to sell the property because the surrounding area was about to be redeveloped, and the house had been handed over to a real estate agency.
Candice then contacted the agency and made an appointment for five o’clock in the afternoon. She wanted to know the details of the villa’s sale, and it was best to discuss that in the negotiation room of the real estate agency.
Land prices in Ploville had been increasing recently, making housing prices soar as well.

Candice frowned at the clean table. Not seeing any papers, she said, “Yes, I am. I’m here to negotiate the purchase of the villa.”
Marlin muttered apologetically, “I’m sorry I didn’t inform you sooner, Miss Blake. The villa has been sold. In fact, the contract was just signed.”
“What? Sold?” Candice couldn’t help raising her voice and glaring at Milton. “Is he the buyer?”
Milton raised his head and replied proudly, “Yes, I am.”
“Why? When I called you, you said no one had made an appointment to buy the property. You said I was the first interested buyer. Why did you sell it to someone else without telling me? That’s very unprofessional, don’t you think? I will lodge a complaint,” Candice spat, feeling extremely upset.
