“I heard you tried on some clothes in the store, but nothing caught your eye. I thought you must have been unsatisfied with the customer service here, so I came to have a look. We have a strict service policy that all employees must adhere to. Since one of my employees failed to make a customer happy, I ought to fire her,” Milton stated matter-of-factly as he set his coffee aside.
The shop assistant beside Candice sounded as if she were about to cry. “Miss Blake, please buy one of our designs. I can’t afford to lose this job. My parents depend on me as the breadwinner of the family. I also have to pay for my brother’s tuition this month. If I lose my job, I won’t be able to survive. Please…”
Just then, tears streamed down her cheeks.
It was not easy to secure a high-paying job in a luxury store. Besides, she had her family to support.
Candice was speechless. She scolded angrily, “Milton, are you heartless? I didn’t want these clothes! It had nothing to do with her. How could you vent your anger on her?”
Bettina immediately tried to stop her when she lashed out. There would be terrible consequences if they offended Milton.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t stop her.
Candice continued berating him, “How did you know I was shopping here anyway? Did you send someone to follow me?”
Milton was laid-back. He wasn’t furious at all. Instead, he explained, “Well, when you swipe your card, I’m immediately notified.”
Candice narrowed her eyes and replied, “How is that possible?”
Bettina whispered in Candice’s ear, “I’m sorry, I just remembered that the Royal Garden Corporation owns several banks, and your credit card comes from one of them. And because of his position in the financial industry, Milton can easily track your expenditures, savings, loans, and where exactly you spend money.”
Candice was stunned. So Milton didn’t suddenly arrive at the Western Union Mall for an inspection but for her. She demanded through gritted teeth, “What the hell are you doing?”
Milton shrugged gracefully and replied, “It’s very simple. Either you take these clothes, or I fire her.”
