Chapter 782
Chapter 782:
As soon as the officer left, Milton slammed the door and vented his anger.
“Didn’t you claim to have your driver’s license on your own? Didn’t you boast about being a skilled driver? And yet you flagrantly violated so many rules?! And driving on the wrong side of the road! Do you realize how perilous that is?”
Helplessly biting her lip, Candice attempted to explain herself. “I can drive, but I’m just not familiar with these roads. It was an emergency, and I couldn’t afford to concern myself with every rule. Besides, you’ve broken rules too.”
Growing bolder, Candice continued, “You once received over 100 traffic tickets in a single month. Your license should have been revoked if you hadn’t used your connections to have it taken care of. Why should I have to retake the exam? It’s unfair!”
When he heard this, Milton’s face darkened, his annoyance simmering.
Candice, feeling a surge of courage, gently pulled on Milton’s arm and adopted a sweet voice. “Please help me with this. I don’t want to retake the exam. It’s such a hassle, and I don’t have time for it either.”
“No. Don’t even think about it! You have to do the exam again,” Milton said coldly.
“Why? Why do I have to do this?” Candice shot back, her anger flaring. “You’re a hypocrite! You’ve broken rules far more than I have!” Milton could easily resolve this, so why was he insisting that she redo the exam? “Our cases are different!” Milton glared at Candice, his face etched with anger.
“What’s the difference? Didn’t we both violate traffic rules?” Candice pouted with dissatisfaction.
With a playful smirk, Milton gently squeezed her cheek. Her expression was endearingly adorable to him.
“I break laws because I choose to. I am in control of my actions! You’ve barely had any experience behind the wheel, and yet you managed to break numerous rules in a span of ten minutes. You almost broke all the rules. And that’s because you weren’t aware of them. Do you get it? To ensure you can safely operate a car in the future, you need to revisit those lessons!”

Candice was left dumbfounded.
This man always had a rational explanation. He justified his own transgressions with such audacity. He scoffed at regulations and ran wild with impunity. However, Candice found herself unable to counter him.
“In a few days, we’ll go driving together. I’ll personally teach you, alright?” Milton’s tone softened, and his arm snaked around her neck, drawing her closer. His hand reached out, delicately brushing her cheek.
Candice seethed with frustration, her chest rising and falling rapidly. He said it casually, but compensating for the exam proved to be a highly bothersome task. Mastering the rules and regulations for the examination wasn’t challenging. However, the real obstacle came in the form of the road test. She had barely managed to pass it before, which left her with a lingering fear whenever she thought about it. On top of that, she had never actually driven on the road before. If she had to face the practical test now, she was certain she would fail miserably. A failure would mean losing her license and having to go through the arduous process again.
