In the Royal Garden Corporation, Milton called Jeffrey personally.
Jeffrey was surprised by the call. He had never expected such direct attention from someone so high up.
“Mr. Lopez, how can I assist you?” Jeffrey asked respectfully.
“In the afternoon, Miss Reeves from Hope Law Firm will be arriving to sign a special contract,” Milton instructed. “You will rent the top five floors of our affiliated building to her at a discounted rate—twenty percent off the lowest market price. And don’t forget, this contract requires my personal approval. Take it to the executive department, have it sealed, and tell them it’s on my orders.”
“I’ll take care of it, sir,” Jeffrey replied promptly.
Jeffrey couldn’t believe what he was hearing. The top five floors were in a prime location with breathtaking views, easily commanding a premium of at least twenty percent above market price.
By offering Miss Reeves twenty percent off the lowest market price, Milton was effectively giving a forty percent discount. It was a generous move that made Jeffrey wonder what conditions were tied to such a deal.
“Mr. Lopez, those top floors were originally reserved for the overseas development department. Mr. Hinks personally designed the interior layout. Now, if we rent out those floors, what will happen to the overseas development department?” Jeffrey asked cautiously, hoping to avoid any awkward explanations to Raul.
“Let the overseas development department use the five floors downstairs. I’ll talk to Raul myself. You just follow my instructions,” Milton replied coolly.
“Okay. Don’t worry, I’ll handle everything perfectly for you, sir.” Jeffrey breathed a sigh of relief and made an instant commitment.
Milton ended the call.
He slumped back in his chair, gazing out the immense floor-to-ceiling window. The setting sun cast an ethereal glow over the scenery, making the majestic Sowley Mountain look even more beautiful.
When the Hope Law Firm relocated to the building next to his, Milton would be able to drop by and see Candice anytime he wanted through the air corridor. As he contemplated this, a surge of joy filled him.

It seemed that Candice couldn’t shake him off, even if she tried.
Suddenly, the phone on his desk rang.
The secretary on the other end informed him, “Jarrod, the driver, has some news for you, Mr. Lopez. Is now a good time for you to see him?”
Milton replied, “Of course. Let him in.”
Jarrod entered the room, bowing respectfully to Milton before reporting, “Mr. Lopez, this morning Miss Blake said she had an urgent matter to attend to and didn’t take my car. Instead, she took a taxi and left.”
Milton nodded. “I know.”
It was because Candice had taken a taxi to the Royal Garden Corporation earlier that morning.
“So you know she went to East Hospital this morning?” Jarrod asked.
Milton furrowed his brows and quickly said, “She didn’t tell me that. Is she not feeling well?” He vividly remembered how she had burst into the meeting room and stopped him from bidding for the Dawnport Automobile Tire Factory. She had looked vigorous and healthy.
