Chapter 778
Chapter 778:
How did he guess her plan to go to the Hope Law Firm that day? Even before she could utter a word, he shot her idea down. There was no need to divulge her plans. Milton seemed to have an uncanny understanding of her selfless nature.
His solution was to insist that she remain home to recuperate.
“What time is it?” he inquired.
Candice glanced at the bedside clock and gasped. “Oh my God. It’s nearly ten!”
The calm morning was suddenly interrupted as she jolted upright, helping Milton adjust against the headboard. “Dr. Pierce and Ms. Clifford will be arriving shortly. How could we have overslept?”
Just then, a knock echoed from the door.
Davion’s voice filtered through. “Mr. Lopez, are you awake? May I enter?” Before Candice could scramble out of bed, Milton responded, “Yes, come in.”
Davion and Sariah walked in to find Candice’s flushed face as she rose from the bed. Both masked their discomfort by pretending not to notice.
“Mr. Lopez, how are you feeling today? Are you still experiencing dizziness or nausea?” Davion asked.
“I don’t feel dizzy at all,” Milton replied.
As Davion shifted his gaze from a rejuvenated Milton to Candice, he remarked, “It appears she’s done an admirable job caring for you. And you, Miss Blake? Do you feel alright?”
When she heard his words, Candice’s mind was catapulted back to the previous night. Her cheeks blazed as she quickly shook her head. “Yes, I feel fine.”
Following a thorough checkup, Davion stated, “His recovery is progressing well. The neck brace can be removed. He still needs to put on a drip, same as yesterday.”
After instructing Sariah to prepare the drip, Davion turned to Milton. “Mr. Lopez, this is going to be hard…”
“Go ahead,” Milton urged, an eyebrow arched.

Davion cleared his throat and said, “If you desire intimacy, remember to watch your position. Woman on top… I think you understand.”
Davion’s words caught Milton off guard, and Candice was completely taken aback.
After uttering those words, Davion respectfully bowed to Milton and said, “Mr. Lopez, if you require nothing else, I shall take my leave now. I’ll be back at the same time tomorrow.”
He then turned around and exited the room.
Due to Sariah’s seniority and experience, she didn’t experience any embarrassment.
Candice found herself in the most awkward position in the room, initially unable to grasp the situation. However, when Davion provided her with a subtle clue, she finally realized what he meant.
Candice froze, her cheeks burning with shame. She was aware of Milton’s tendency to be uncensored, often leading to her own embarrassment. However, right now, the feeling of humiliation far outweighed her usual discomfort. She felt rooted to the spot, as if a large tree trunk had attached itself to her feet. As Milton mulled over Davion’s words, a sudden stiffness overtook his body. He managed to maintain his composure, just barely.
