Chapter 878
Chapter 881:
The intimate gesture between Raul and Bettina did not go unnoticed by Bart, leaving him deeply discontented. Recalling Bettina’s previous admission of sleeping with another man, Bart had been unable to locate her recently, and she no longer resided in her home. “Is she now living with Raul? How dare she betray me?” Bart thought to himself.
Fury consumed Bart as he strode purposefully toward Bettina.
Observing Bart’s exasperated expression and determined approach, Raul discerned that Bart harbored ill intentions, seeking to cause trouble. Raul and Bart had long been at odds, and now, with his spine straightened and resolve firm, Raul steeled himself, prepared to face Bart’s provocation head-on.
At that precise moment, Anson and Boden came toward Raul unexpectedly. Anson, a founding member of the esteemed Royal Garden Corporation, commanded respect within the company despite his relatively youthful age of under sixty. Boden, too, carried the weight of seniority and reverence among his peers.
Witnessing their entrance, Raul offered a slight bow.
Even Bart, previously on the verge of interrogating Bettina, momentarily slowed his pace when the two directors emerged. Suppressing his anger and withholding his words for the time being, Bart found himself obliged to delay his confrontation.
Upon Bart’s approach, Bettina instinctively sought refuge behind the protective presence of Raul, an action that further stoked Bart’s irritation.
Bart’s eyes, concealed by golden-rimmed glasses, harbored an intensity that might have appeared even more ferocious had it not been for this subtle adornment. “Damn it! She’s even hiding behind another man!” he mused.
Sensing the slight tremor in the woman beside him, Raul narrowed his eyes, a glimmer of comprehension taking hold within his consciousness. It became apparent to him that Bart’s ire was not directed towards him, but rather at Bettina.
At that moment, Anson, wearing a congenial smile, broke the tension with his words. “Pleasure to meet you, Miss Reeves,” he greeted. “How come you became Mr. Hinks’ companion this evening?”

Having knowledge of Raul’s affiliation with the Hinks family and his position as a mere supporter of Milton within the company, Anson and Boden occasionally had some respect for him.
Boden, raising an eyebrow, joined in with a playful smile. “I’m confused too.”
Bart extended his hand in an attempt to seize Bettina, but Raul swiftly intervened, extending his arm to block the advance.
With unwavering conviction, Raul announced in front of the two venerable directors, “Yes, Betty is my girlfriend now.”
Accompanying his words, Raul cast a sidelong glance at Bart, a silent assertion of his dominion over Bettina.
As anticipated, Bart’s face contorted with an explosive mix of anger and indignation.
Raul observed that Bart clenched his hands into tight fists, causing the veins on the back of his hands to strain and protrude. Drawing a deep breath, Raul realized with certainty that the audacious individual who dared to mistreat Bettina was none other than Bart.
