Chapter 210

Chapter 210:
“I also believe that you are in love with him.”
“Sleep with him again if you want to know what’s going on. Your physical self is always honest. You’ll figure out how you feel about him after you sleep with him.”
Candice’s mood deteriorated as she read the replies.
People were just full of nonsense!
What kind of useless advice was this?
Perhaps she had lost her mind to come to such an obviously unsuitable forum for help.
It was completely out of the question for her to develop feelings for Milton!
None of the people on the forum knew what they were talking about. Candice was naive to think these random internet users would help her with her dumb question.
Just as Candice was about to remove the post, she came across an intriguing response she couldn’t scroll past. It read, “Don’t talk nonsense here. This is the Broken Windows Theory. A shattered window might lead to accepting the breaking of more windows. In any case, the house is no longer whole. You were coerced into having sex with him, and you naturally didn’t resist his repeated attempts at forcing kisses. It’s like giving up on yourself and seeing yourself as helpless, to put it plainly.”
That was food for thought for Candice at that moment.
The Broken Windows Theory.
It made sense to her. Because she had already had sexual contact with Milton, she thought being coerced into repeated kisses wasn’t such a big deal. She had, in fact, given up on herself completely.
She was unable to stop Milton from doing what he wanted, so she just let him go ahead.
That was true in every way. Come what may, she would never develop romantic feelings for Milton!
After taking a deep breath, Candice immediately felt better. She wanted no more of those useless comments. So, she deleted the post and shut off the computer.
Candice swore she would never again post such a lame topic on an internet forum.

She got to work, double-checked her facts, and drafted the appeal.
The hours seemed to fly by. Before she knew it, the clock struck six.
She felt a little hungry. She had eaten well in the morning but hadn’t had anything since.
She was getting ready to leave the office to have dinner outside.
Suddenly, her phone screen lit up.
Greyson was calling.
Candice’s heart skipped a beat when she saw it, and she decided not to answer. But then she remembered that she had just obtained the Centilength Biotech document from Grady today.
She knew Greyson was the only one who could fully clarify the situation for her.
Candice owed, or would eventually owe, Greyson her gratitude for his help in uncovering the truth behind the Blake Group’s bankruptcy.
