Chapter 669
Chapter 669:
Candice let out a soft gasp as her body swayed forward. By the time she regained her balance, she found herself enveloped in his arms.
A wave of surprise washed over her, stirring a desire to pull away. Did this action silently convey her acceptance of their improper relationship to those watching?
“Release me,” she quietly urged him.
Ignoring her protest, Milton decisively swept her off her feet. “Mom, Mrs. Olson. Enjoy your meal. I’ll be taking her.” With that, he dragged Candice away, not bothering to acknowledge Sigrid’s presence.
Once they were some distance away, Candice stole a glance back. Erica’s face bore a severe look, while Sigrid’s cheeks flamed with fury. In stark contrast, Paisley’s face held a cryptic smile, casting an eerie grin toward Candice.
It sent a chill down her spine.
When they entered the private room with Milton, the waiter promptly shut the door behind them.
“May I bring the meal now?” the waiter inquired in a respectful tone.
“Sure,” Milton responded.
He guided Candice to sit beside him, saying, “I’ve been anticipating your arrival. What did you do inside the restroom?”
Feeling her cheeks heat up, Candice knew the delay was all his doing.
“I’d rather sit across,” Candice said, attempting to stand up. It would be quite peculiar if someone caught sight of them sitting side by side, indulging in a meal together. Naturally, it bothered her. After all, Erica, Sigrid, and Paisley happened to be in the same restaurant.
Milton, however, restrained Candice, warning, “If you utter another word, I’ll have you seated in my lap.”
Candice was left without a response.
In the next instant, the server walked in, bearing trays filled with culinary delights. Exquisite sashimi of multiple varieties, meticulously sliced, lay chilling on mounds of ice on a large platter. There were silver-hued scallops from Hokkaido, a smattering of caviar, sea bass, cherry trout, and regal crabs. A separate dish held pristine beef, its marbled patterns apparent to the naked eye.

Milton lifted a piece of the beef, plunged it into a bowl brimming with ice cubes, and offered it to Candice.
“Give it a taste. It’s the specialty of this restaurant.”
Candice evaded his gesture. “I’m not keen on eating beef.”
Milton responded with a laugh. “Just try it. This is the most prized cut from a beef cow, very few pieces like this. The flavor is unparalleled.”
Candice knitted her brows. “No, I don’t want it. I have my own hands. I don’t want you feeding me. Place it down. I’ll taste it by myself.”
Despite her objection, Milton ignored her protest, held her chin, and pressed the beef into her mouth.
With her beautiful eyes wide open, Candice found herself compelled to chew the beef in her mouth, with no other option at her disposal. The delectable and buttery flavor combined with the melt-in-the-mouth texture brought a sparkle to her eyes. It was exquisite, the finest beef she had ever tasted.
