Chapter 100

Chapter 100:
Subconsciously, Candice tried to stay away from him. A storm was brewing, and he still had the nerve to stand behind her?! What was going through his mind? Was he inviting calamity to his side?
As Milton emerged, reporters immediately clustered around him.
“Please, Mr. Lopez, shed some light on this situation for us.”
“You just indicated that she didn’t approach you with the intention of seducing you on her own initiative, Mr. Lopez. So, I take it you two are dating, right?”
“You both attended Wilmint High School, Mr. Lopez. Do you have a history together?”
“Does she have something on you, Mr. Lopez? Were you being threatened by her?”
“Mr. Lopez, you’ve never been at the center of controversy. This is incomprehensible to the public. Is there anything you can tell us?”
This biased reporting really bothered Candice.
With that, she brushed past the reporters.
Her voice was icy as she replied, “If you don’t have proof, please don’t make unfounded accusations. I could sue you for this nonsense!”
As she spoke, she tried to make her way through the crowd.
But something unexpected happened. Milton, standing behind her, grabbed her arm and pulled her backward.
She lost her balance and fell squarely into his arms!
He leaned closer, about to kiss her.
Candice was so shocked that she temporarily couldn’t think straight.
Was he completely crazy? Was he really about to kiss her in front of the press?
She had reached a mental impasse and couldn’t think further. Without hesitation, she reached out to smack his handsome face.
But Milton grabbed her wrist.
His attitude in front of the press turned condescending. “It’s impossible to entice me. I forced myself on her.”

“Listen up: There’s nothing in this world I can’t have, and that includes you.”
He spoke to Candice as if making a solemn vow, his gaze intense.
After his statement, he drew her close in front of everyone. Grabbing her by the waist, he pulled her away.
It was a shock to Candice. She felt his powerful arms around her and his body heat surrounding her.
The persistent reporters rushed forward again, trying to follow them.
As the lights continued flashing, they became almost blinding.
“Mr. Lopez, you still haven’t answered our questions.”
“Do you mean to say you took the initiative?”
“Can you please call a news conference to address this, Mr. Lopez?”
Milton snapped his fingers.
A number of Royal Garden Company security personnel instantly intervened, preventing the reporters from approaching Milton.
Candice was completely out of options. She turned to see Bettina in a corner, and her heart sank. Bettina was jumping up and down, pulling out her cell phone and shaking it to show she would contact her later.
The reporters were helpless as Milton led Candice into the elevator. They caught their last glimpse before the elevator doors closed.
Someone shouted, “Check your cell phones! Oh my God! There’s been a major development!”
“Really? Let’s see!”
A mad rush began as everyone checked the news on their phones.
“Holy crap! This is an official court summons! Someone has released a court summons, and it states that the plaintiff is Candice Blake and the defendant is Milton Lopez! No one saw this coming!”
“Therefore, Mr. Lopez really forced himself on that woman? That defies logic!”
“She was clearly compelled. Just look at how she looked a moment ago—she was furious! I captured the whole thing on tape.”
