Chapter 779
Chapter 779:
His gaze flicked to Candice, who was visibly flustered, her fingers twitching in anxiety. He recognized her shyness and decided to help.
“Get me a glass of water,” he commanded.
Milton helped her out. If she continued to linger, her discomfort would only increase.
Candice snapped out of her daze and hurriedly fled from the room. Once in the bathroom, she splashed her face repeatedly with cold water, attempting to soothe her flushed cheeks.
After freshening up, Candice found herself sitting in the dining room, lacking enthusiasm.
The thought of returning to the room to serve Milton water filled her with dread. Just then, Jarrod entered with documents for Milton to sign, meticulously arranging them on the table.
Candice requested, “Could you please go inside and bring him a glass of water? Also, bring him a meal according to his breakfast preferences.”
“Sure thing,” Jarrod replied.
Following Candice’s instructions, Jarrod carried the food into Milton’s room. Shortly after, he entered the room accompanied by over a dozen cleaners. They were all dressed in identical attire, exuding a highly professional appearance.
“Miss Blake, would you mind stepping into the living room while they clean?”
Subsequently, Candice made her way to the living room, holding her phone in hand.
Candice found herself shocked by the sight of a dozen cleaners scurrying around her house. These were Milton’s exclusive cleaning crew. She had always wondered how his house stayed so immaculate, and now she knew. They arrived at a specific time, cleaned, and then departed. Milton maintained a strict policy of not allowing any servants to reside in his house. This exemplified the seriousness of his eccentricity and his aversion to personal interaction.
Settling on the couch, Candice diverted her attention to her emails. Much of her work could be handled via email. All she had to do was draft a statement. There was no immediate necessity for her to personally conduct a trial. Given Milton’s restrictions, she had no choice but to work from home.

A couple of hours later, the cleaning crew finished their task. With a respectful bow to Candice, they walked out of the villa.
At the same time, Milton’s treatment was also completed. Upon seeing Candice, Sariah, carrying a medical box, approached her and respectfully greeted her. “Miss Blake, please remember to take your medication on time. If any issues arise, do not hesitate to contact me immediately.” Candice nodded in acknowledgment.
Following Sariah, Jarrod too exited the villa. In the huge villa, there were only Candice and Milton.
Despite his injuries, Milton strode out of his room with an unscathed dignity. He glanced at Candice, who deliberately avoided his gaze while seated on the sofa.
A couple of hours slipped away, and her cheeks maintained their blush, resembling a ripe persimmon in full bloom.
Milton feigned a throat-clearing to snag her focus.
