Chapter 930
Chapter 936:
All of a sudden, a critical realization hit her.
They had engaged in a spontaneous sexual encounter, and Milton had neglected to use a condom.
Due to the time difference with Europe, it was already early morning after the transnational meeting.
Just as Milton had predicted, it was too late. He pondered over his situation. His trip to the coastal manor in Raleigh that day was set to consume over three hours, which seemed overly burdensome.
Furthermore, with both Annot and Bart keeping a close watch on him, Milton opted against using a helicopter. Its loud noise and easily traceable route would attract unwanted attention.
So, he decided to make the drive immediately, allowing him to return to Ploville early the next day and reach their engagement party before she did.
He was aware of Candice’s dislike for such social events and her struggle with them. He didn’t want her facing this ordeal by herself. With this thought, Milton made the decision to embark on his journey immediately.
Erica and Conley had arrived at the manor by the sea in Raleigh yesterday.
Arlo had slipped into a coma, a fact only known to Erica and her trusted people.
No one around Milton knew about it.
At that time, Milton was setting out for Raleigh alone.
During the drive, he placed a call to Axell, ordering, “I require the surveillance footage from the Peaky Building, ranging from eleven at night to two in the morning of June 28th three years prior. Focus on it. I need the specific clip of a woman aged over fifty. Additionally, supply all possible surveillance locations near the building. And remember, this stays between us.”
At the other end, Axell was taken aback, questioning, “Mr. Lopez, from over three years ago? It might be a bit challenging. Our subsidiaries’ security is outsourced. They don’t usually store surveillance footage for that long, unless under extraordinary circumstances.”

“Exactly why I asked you to figure it out. Whether you recover and archive it or find municipal road monitoring. I need to see it as soon as possible. The quicker, the better.”
“Understood, Mr. Lopez. I’ll get on it immediately,” Axell responded.
Milton then ended the call.
He swapped to a vehicle that wasn’t frequently used, and also wasn’t registered under Royal Garden Corporation, to remain undetected. He steered the car onto the highway.
After some time, Milton navigated the twisting, seemingly endless mountain road. The area was devoid of street lights, with only the feeble glow from yellow reflective boards beside the railing lighting his path.
Milton rested one hand on the car window while the other held the steering wheel.
He found his mind replaying his intimate encounter with Candice. The pleasure derived from their shared moment was soothing. Candice had always maintained a strong front, but when she begged him not to leave her, it stoked his male ego. Yet his heart ached.
