Chapter 352

Chapter 352:
“What’s wrong? Is my condition worsening?” Candice asked, perplexed.
Wendell shook his head. “No. Although you haven’t been coming to treatment for several months, your condition hasn’t worsened. In fact, these tests suggest your PTSD has improved. This is the first sign of improvement in the past year. In other words, you are healing.”
Candice was taken aback. Was her PTSD really getting better? How could that be possible? After all, the medication she had been taking didn’t seem to help.
“I’m curious,” Wendell continued. “You got married and divorced so suddenly that I expected you to suffer from another kind of trauma. Tell me if I’m wrong—have you met someone special recently? Someone who seems to be influencing you? Think about it carefully. For example, is anyone making you…”
“Feel warm and cared for?” Candice was confused. There was only one man who had entered her life lately.
And it was Milton.
He had suddenly appeared in her world and turned much of her life upside down.
How could it be him?
After leaving the psychotherapy center, Candice took a cab back to Sunrise Apartment.
She was still in a trance and couldn’t believe what Wendell had told her.
Was Milton really having a positive impact on her and helping heal her PTSD?
In other words, was Milton her cure?
How could that be possible?
However, she had to admit that he had taken great care of her recently. She had even gained five pounds.
Yet, Milton was also the one who had hurt her from the start. He forced himself on her, humiliated her, and caused her divorce. In fact, she might not even be able to regain the patent for the new medicine because of him.

Their messy beginning had led to a complicated and ambiguous bond between them.
Ironically, it seemed that he could be her cure. Was she so desperate for love that even a little care and concern could mend her wounded heart? She shook her head, feeling even more confused.
She recalled Wendell’s words.
“It’s difficult to cure PTSD. Such disorders take a long time to heal. Now we’ve found that there is light in your life. You have someone who can give you the warmth you need to heal. You should get closer to him, trust him, and depend on him. Also, seeing that your condition is improving, I will be halting your medication for some time and monitoring your progress. But you still have to come for regular follow-ups. Once every one or two months should suffice.”
She promised Wendell she would return.
Yet, as she left his office, she felt shocked and overwhelmed, as if there was too much to process.
