How could things ever be easy for them?
Milton shook his head and retorted, “No, don’t be ridiculous.”
“Why did Candice move? What happened between her and Greyson?” Raul probed, observing Milton’s expressions. “Did they break up?”
Milton shook his head. “I have no idea.”
“Divorced, then?” Raul continued to interrogate.
“I don’t know,” Milton replied coldly, shooting Raul an unhappy look.
“Why didn’t you ask her anything?” Raul muttered in disbelief. “Aren’t you curious?”
Milton grew impatient and said, “If she doesn’t want to tell me, then I shouldn’t ask.”
At that moment, Milton still burned with desire. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. It took all his willpower not to give in to his temptations.
It was pure agony. “I’m going to take a shower.” And with that, Milton disappeared into the bathroom.
“Take a shower? Why are you showering here?” Raul was taken aback and then responded, “Why don’t you go home to shower? Are you staying over tonight?”
“Yes,” Milton replied curtly. “Jarrod will bring my stuff over later. But before that, please tidy up this place! It’s as messy as a doghouse!”
With that, Milton closed the bathroom door and turned on the cold water faucet.
As the frigid water cascaded over his overheated body, he finally felt a bit more at ease. Meanwhile, Raul was left speechless.
He wanted to scold Milton. If he hated the mess so much, why did he stay here? How could Milton boss him around like this? Since he was a neat freak, he should clean it up himself! Raul grumbled under his breath, but he still went to tidy up the guest room.
When Milton emerged from the bathroom in a bathrobe, Jarrod had already arrived.
Jarrod was taken aback. No wonder when he had informed Milton that Candice had moved, he had seemed unfazed. It turned out that Candice had moved right across from Raul’s apartment, and Milton had asked Jarrod to bring his things here.

“Mr. Lopez, your things,” Jarrod said as he set down the luggage.
Milton gave it a quick glance before responding, “Good.”
“Is there anything else I can do for you, Mr. Lopez?” Jarrod asked respectfully.
Milton made him wait for a moment.
He then shot a glance at Raul. “So, why did you clean up the guest room? I asked you to clean up the master bedroom for me.”
Collapsing onto the sofa, Raul almost jumped up when he heard Milton’s remark.
“You want the master bedroom? Then where am I supposed to sleep? Come on, you’re my guest. Don’t be a presumptuous guest who usurps the host’s role, okay?” Milton raised his eyebrows and said, “Jarrod, send Raul to Oakdale.”
Raul was stunned and asked quickly, “Why do I have to go to Oakdale?”
“For a business trip. As the director of the development department, it’s your responsibility to oversee the power and energy project in Oakdale. I need you to stay there for the entire month.”
