Chapter 973
Chapter 979:
“Late Night Rendezvous: Mr. Lopez and a Rising Starlet.”
“Why is Mr. Lopez still the Fantasy of Countless Women?”
“Kori’s Secret: Pawn in a Billionaire’s Game?”
“The Saga of an Unknown Actress.”
“Starlet or Secretary: Who Will Win the Wealthy Suitor?”
After scanning the stories, she switched off her phone. Reclining her seat, she closed her eyes for some much-needed rest.
Earlier that morning, the verdict in the international human rights case had been declared, following nearly a month of jury deliberations. She had emerged victorious, and the opposing side had forsaken any chance to appeal.
Not one to linger, Candice immediately returned to her hotel, hastily packed, and departed two days ahead of schedule.
While she was out of town on business, Royal Garden Corporation had successfully acquired Karen Steel for a mere 22 billion, a whole 2 billion less than she had anticipated. No doubt, the board of the Royal Garden Corporation would be pleased.
As per the agreement, 3% of the company shares were now in her name.
Two significant milestones concluded, she breathed deeply, relishing a moment of utter relaxation.
It had been over two months since she last saw Milton. It was about time to see him.
Bearing the triumph of a successful overseas human rights lawsuit, she had every reason to meet him.
In the president’s office of Royal Garden Corporation, Kori visited Milton’s office.
She had no particular agenda, except that she had heard the corporation’s luxury jewelry line was launching new items next month and needed models. Eager to boost her public profile, she secured an audition after setting up several appointments. Once her afternoon audition concluded, she dropped by his office with Milton’s permission, a privilege she wouldn’t have otherwise earned.

The paparazzi staked out the perimeter of the Royal Garden Corporation building. Ever since Kori had stepped inside, they had an exclusive scoop.
Kori went to the top floor, standing at the door of Milton’s office. At that moment, Maia, the annoying secretary, emerged from behind her desk.
“Why are you here? I don’t see any scheduled appointment for you,” Maia inquired.
Kori shot back, a smirk on her face, “I’m Mr. Lopez’s girlfriend. I don’t need an appointment to see him.”
Wearing a white, naval-inspired shirt and a navy-blue checkered skirt, Kori showed off her long, slender legs. Floral bud-patterned stockings revealed a glimpse of her skin. Her hair was neatly tied in a high ponytail, secured with blue and white ribbons. She emanated youthful beauty.
On the other hand, Maia wore a provocative outfit. A black suit barely concealed her enticing lingerie. She was usually the one who captured men’s gazes.
Visibly annoyed by Kori’s attire, Maia taunted, “Dressing like a schoolgirl at your age? You really lack self-awareness.”
