Chapter 573
Chapter 573:
Milton grabbed her wrist and said, “You don’t have to pretend to be strong in front of me.”
Candice forced a smile. It was because she was in front of him that she needed to appear stronger.
Ignoring his plea, she removed his hand and insisted on entering the cloakroom to change her clothes.
After a while, she emerged wearing a professional black suit, exuding a capable and sharp aura. To mask her pale complexion, she applied a layer of foundation and a touch of lip gloss.
When she stepped out, Milton examined her from head to toe.
He immediately noticed that she had applied light makeup. Candice seldom bothered with dressing up, let alone wearing makeup. Suddenly, he remembered the first time he encountered her at Royal Garden Corporation. He only knew her as Candy at that time. Back then, she had accidentally bumped into him, smearing foundation from her face onto his suit.
Now he understood that she had also used makeup to conceal her pale appearance at that time.
His heart ached for her.
Candice walked past Milton and glanced at him. “I want to know how you managed to enter my villa yesterday.”
“Used password,” Milton said.
“That’s impossible. I changed the password. It’s not the old one. There’s no way you could know it.” Candice didn’t buy his explanation at all.
Hearing this, he frowned and grew displeased. How could she change the password? Wasn’t she afraid of forgetting it like before? Did she change it as a precaution against him? Well, fortunately, he had a backup plan.
“Aren’t you going to the law firm? I’m heading back to Royal Garden Corporation too. Let me give you a ride. The car is parked nearby. I’ll go ahead and drive. Wait for me by the roadside, no need to cross the street.” With that, he turned around and walked away briskly.
Stay tuned
Candice was left speechless.
Was he intentionally avoiding discussing this matter? She had changed the password, and his fingerprint was not registered in the fingerprint library. What method did he use to gain access?
Damn it! Candice stamped her feet in anger. He had made himself at home and freely entered and exited.
Soon, Candice arrived at the law firm.
Everything proceeded as usual. Nobody knew about her experiences from the previous day. They exchanged polite greetings.
On her way here, she had overheard Milton making a phone call to arrange for food delivery.
Upon arriving at her office, she found a beautifully crafted lunch box had already been placed on her desk. She opened the lunch box, grabbed the fork, and turned on the computer.
