“Why does it matter? We both like each other. That’s all that matters, right?” Bart looked at Bettina’s face and suddenly leaned in to kiss her red lips passionately.
“Ouch.” Before he could deepen the kiss, he let go of her with a pained expression on his face.
He tasted blood in his mouth. Embarrassed and angry, he grabbed Bettina’s neck tightly in a fit of rage.
She found it hard to breathe.
Struggling to catch her breath, she sneered, “Your true colors are finally showing. You should know that I’m not as gullible as I was three years ago. I can see through your lies now. And you can’t take advantage of me. Bah!”
She spat at him with disgust.
Infuriated, Bart released his grip on Bettina’s neck.
Bettina took a deep breath, inhaling until she gasped violently.
Bart sneered with a sinister smile. “Did you enjoy playing the sympathy card, Miss Reeves?”
Bettina froze.
Anger boiled within her, causing her lips and teeth to tremble.
With his physical advantage, Bart towered over her, his palm brushing against her cheek. As she dodged, he scoffed, “Why are you avoiding me? I’ve touched every inch of your body.”
Leaning in close, he whispered in her ear with a menacing tone, “I remember everything about you. You were quite enthusiastic when we made love. People might mistake you for being promiscuous. Don’t you miss my touch? Let me remind you of how good it felt.”
The mention of their past humiliated Bettina beyond belief.
How could he reduce her devoted efforts to a dirty joke? It was beyond insulting.
She couldn’t compare to Candice. Even though Candice was caught up in emotional turmoil, she still valued her purity. But Bettina had been foolish enough to give Bart her body and heart, and now she couldn’t bear to bring up her past to Candice.

Bettina sneered, “You’ll never understand. You’re so repulsive now!”
