When he was kidnapped, no matter how calm he appeared, he was still terrified. His head had been covered, and his hands and feet were tied with ropes.
He still had nightmares about the incident after all these years. He recalled hearing the kidnappers threatening his grandfather to pledge Harmony Hospital over the phone.
Since he was the only heir in the Harman family, his grandfather naturally agreed.
He felt helpless then as he was brutally tortured. He didn’t know who would save him.
If anyone was going to get him out alive, that person had to be an angel.
So he could never forget the surprise and excitement when he woke up in the hospital to see Madilyn, thinking she was the one who saved him.
Consequently, he swore to treat her well and take care of her from that day onward.
He knew Madilyn liked him since childhood, but he only saw her as a friend.
Because of this, he was determined to accept Madilyn.

Greyson burst into Candice’s ward with a sudden rush. The door slammed shut behind him, causing Candice to jump from her resting position.
She turned to face him, taken aback by the mix of pain, astonishment, and shock on his usually composed face. Though he had shown a slight temper recently, seeing him so emotionally unguarded was unusual.
Candice remained silent, waiting for him to speak and explain his agitation. Then she noticed the divorce decree clenched tightly in his hand. She narrowed her eyes but still said nothing.
She wanted to hear what Greyson had to say.
“Candice, what happened in Overshow ten years ago?” Greyson asked pointedly.
Overshow? Candice immediately understood what he meant.
“It was a long time ago. Why are you suddenly bringing it up? Didn’t the police save you that day? Weren’t you fine? I distinctly remember you didn’t have any serious injuries afterward.” Candice leaned against the edge of the bed, wondering why Greyson was fixated on an event from a decade ago, and why tonight of all nights.
