Without hesitation, Milton refused, saying, “The contract expressly states that Party B shall not initiate termination, and the right to decide contract termination belongs solely to Party A.”
Candice was rendered speechless.
She found herself momentarily trapped in a pit that Bettina had apparently dug for her.
Her anger got the best of her as she lifted her wrist to try to remove the bracelet. “I’m here to return your bracelet.”
Milton stood at the gate, arms folded across his chest, staring calmly at her. “Go ahead. I’ll take it if you can get it off.”
Candice tried several times but failed. Her wrist became swollen and red, making removal even harder.
A flush of rage spread across her cheeks.
God! What kind of force had he used to put it on? Why was it impossible to remove now?
Her expression grew more aggravated as her frustration skyrocketed.
“Save yourself the effort,” Milton said nonchalantly. “Without my permission, no one in the world can take it off for you.”
Candice cocked her head, glaring fiercely at his sharp profile.
She wanted to give him a good beating. Despite that, she took several deep breaths and managed to hold back, then walked toward the elevator.
Her mistake had been following Bettina’s advice and coming here.
Once Candice left, Milton returned to the meeting room, retrieved the court summons, and instructed, “Release it to the public under a third party’s name.”
Quickly, Raul placed a hand on Milton’s arm and asked, “Have you lost your mind? Have you considered the repercussions, Milton?”
Casually, Milton gave Raul a sideways glance and said, “You should know me better.”
Following that, Milton sent a stern glance toward the PR department and stated, “Better get started. This very second!”

All the public relations staff exchanged shocked glances. They all questioned Milton’s mental state.
As that was happening, Bettina finished her phone conversation. Seeing Candice rush into the elevator, she quickly followed.
“You’re leaving already? We haven’t spoken to Mr. Lopez yet.”
Candice pressed the button for the first floor firmly as the elevator doors closed.
“I have zero interest in talking to an asshole!”
“What? What happened?” Bettina asked.
“Just stop asking. When we’re out of this damn place, I’ll fill you in.” Clearly, Candice was agitated. She had come here only to make a fool of herself.
They reached the first floor, and the elevator doors opened. Candice was taken aback by what she saw as she stepped into the Royal Garden Corporation lobby.
Apparently, she had forgotten her current situation. The media surged toward her like a tidal wave.
They waved cameras and microphones. The lobby was jammed and crowded.
Candice could barely open her eyes, blinded by the flashing white lights.
“Pardon me, but are you Candice?”
“How come you’re here so early? Did you spend the evening with Mr. Lopez?”
“You’re married, but you’ve been seeing Mr. Lopez. What can you say about that?”
“Your husband is very wealthy. Do you want a spouse with higher status and more resources?”
“Trying to seduce Mr. Lopez?! How about that? So, what’s your catch here?”
The barrage of questions sent chills down Candice’s spine. Meanwhile, the crowd had forced Bettina into a corner where she couldn’t reach Candice.
“Who said she seduced me?”
The morning sun shone high, its golden rays illuminating the lobby. An attractive, masculine voice commanded attention from behind her.
Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at Milton, the other protagonist.
The features of his face were as finely wrought as those of ancient Greek statues. He wore a sleek, dark gray business suit. In the bright early morning light, he looked even more handsome than usual.
He carried himself with an air of authority, nobility, and composure wherever he went. Tall and straight, he walked with firm steps.
Slowly, Milton made his way behind Candice.
