“Hmm…” Candice tried to resist, but all she could do was widen her eyes in disbelief.

Milton stared after her until she disappeared from sight.
Judge Fletcher carefully observed Milton’s expression. Since the plaintiff left abruptly, it was safe to assume they hadn’t reached a consensus.
“Mr. Lopez, will you please post bail first? It’s two hundred million.”
The bail was substantial because it was a criminal case.
Milton glanced at Judge Fletcher and nodded in response. Then he took out his phone, tapped on Candice’s missed call, and began editing her contact name. After a few seconds of thought, he deleted her entire contact name and replaced it with “Honey.” He then put away his phone as if nothing had happened.
Judge Fletcher spoke again, “What are your plans next, Mr. Lopez? There are still four months before the hearing. During that time, both parties must provide evidence. If you can prove you were framed that night—”
Milton interrupted before he could finish, “There will be no need for that. I will make her marry me before the hearing.”
