Chapter 154
Chapter 154:
“Let me out!” she said, one word at a time.
After a moment, Milton regained his composure and released her. If he didn’t let her out, he might have done exactly what the two people who had just passed by had guessed.
Once Candice finally stepped out of the car, she headed straight for the lake.
She was desperate for fresh air. Being with this man was too risky.
Milton got out of the car after her.
He reached for a cigarette but tossed it away before lighting it, feeling hot and dry all over. His mood was so sour he didn’t even want to smoke.
Candice paused, then cautiously asked, “What exactly can I do to convince you to sell me the villa? You can’t keep making me feel threatened, can you?”
Milton stared at her with a raised eyebrow and replied, “Why can’t I?”
Candice couldn’t come up with an answer.
She believed that talking with him was very difficult.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to talk about the house with me?” Candice asked weakly. He had made her get into the car and then sped all the way. Wasn’t he supposed to bring up the villa?
“I just wanted you to get in the car. It was merely an excuse,” Milton admitted frankly.
Candice was left speechless.
A chill hung between them.
Even the sky grew gloomy. Dark clouds covered the sky, and everything turned silent and somber. A brisk breeze swept between them.
“What the hell do you want?” Candice asked for the last time.
“Until you do what I want, that conversation can’t happen! The decision to demolish it or leave it as is, and how to reshape the surrounding area—that rests entirely with me!” Milton didn’t seem to be mincing his words.
As he spoke, Candice’s fists clenched, and she wished she could punch him in his damn cute face.
It all depended on his mood?

Until she did what he wanted?
His words kept echoing in her mind.
This cruel man knew exactly where to hurt her and intended to use that as a threat.
During the ballet troupe’s press conference just moments ago, Milton had immediately dismissed Madilyn. Candice felt a brief flicker of joy.
At least, she thought, he had done the ethical thing. But now it was clear this man was just as arrogant as ever. She shouldn’t have changed her mind about him.
“I’m leaving since you don’t want to discuss the house with me,” Candice said angrily as she turned to walk away.
Nevertheless, Milton extended a hand to stop her.
“Who said you could leave? Why did you leave the press conference with him just now? I told you not to leave with him. Are you deaf or something?”
