Chapter 112
Chapter 112:
He stared at her with a furious expression. She was clutching Greyson’s hand, which Milton felt was like a needle piercing his eyes.
He warned, “Don’t have sex with him!”
Then, in anger, he turned around and stormed away. Each stride felt like walking on the tips of knives, making it difficult to even breathe. He convinced himself he left so as not to make things difficult for her. Tonight, Milton may have won the argument with Greyson, but he lost spectacularly due to Candice’s attitude.
In spite of his misgivings, he had to confront the fact that, for the time being at least, she still loved Greyson. By the time Milton got back to his car, he could hardly get a grip on himself.
He punched the glass in frustration.
The tempered glass was of the highest quality. It was impenetrable by physical force and incredibly strong. His fingers were bleeding from the massive hit, yet he felt no pain.
Meanwhile, Candice dragged Greyson back home.
He plopped down aggressively on the sofa, out of breath. Candice had never seen him so enraged. Normally, he was as calm and collected as a deep pool, always unpredictable.
She scrutinized him from head to toe before asking, “Are you hurt?”
Greyson snapped his eyes up at her with a grim expression and asked, “Didn’t you say that you had nothing to do with him?”
Candice said, “Trust me, I’ve known it was him for only the last two days.”
She paused for a moment, then added, “I’m sorry for causing such a negative effect on you.”
Greyson snarled, “To you, it’s just a negative effect, right? Really?”
“You warned me that if I cheated on you again, you’d take away my chance to get the patent. Yet, this incident occurred before we made the agreement. So, I kept my word and didn’t do anything wrong.” Candice was a stickler for principle and wouldn’t compromise.
The patent was crucial, so she had to get it right. It wasn’t about the cash; it was all about her late parents.
Hardly apologetic, Greyson said, “I’m not talking about the patent.”

“What else does it affect?” Candice didn’t understand.
Greyson fixed his gaze on her.
Suddenly, he thought she seemed distant. It was as though this lady, who had previously cared for him exclusively, had changed.
“To me, it looks like you like Milton, huh?” Greyson suddenly questioned.
Candice was shocked to hear this and quickly snapped back, “No! It’s impossible!”
The speed with which she denied the allegation left her completely thrown off. Why did she feel such anxiety?
She said, “The hashtags and trending headlines about me have been removed, along with the comments. Reporters and news outlets will stop following this story for the time being. No one will care about it anymore after a while.”
