No one was in the room. There were two long tables with three seats at each. Apart from that, there were seats for the judge and jury. However, the judge would be alone without any jury since this was just a mediation.
After taking in the room, Candice walked in and sat at the plaintiff’s seat.
Candice was always in court, but this was her first time as a plaintiff.
Of course, the man hadn’t arrived yet.
Not long after, the door was pushed open and a man in a black robe strode in. It was the judge. He was about fifty years old, overweight, with a greasy face, short thick eyebrows, and small eyes.
Instantly, Candice didn’t like him.
Generally, female judges were appointed in women’s rights cases. Seeing a male judge made her suspicious. The defendant must have pulled some strings to make this happen.
Judge Fletcher walked over and glanced at the woman who was so well covered that only her eyes were visible.
He approached her to check her identity.
Candice removed her mask so he could confirm her identity.
Satisfied, Judge Fletcher took his seat. Candice looked down at her watch in annoyance. He was three minutes late.
The arrogant man from her wedding night dared to be late!

She took out the materials she had prepared for the mediation and placed them on the table.

But Judge Fletcher nodded at Milton and said, “Since everyone’s here, let’s start the mediation.”
Candice shook her head in disbelief. She couldn’t believe that the man who had tortured her on her wedding night, the man who ruined her wedding and everything, was actually Milton Lopez.
She simply couldn’t believe it.
