Chapter 589
Chapter 589:
With a casual remark, he said, “What a coincidence. I’m also headed to Wenkin.”
Candice was left speechless.
Candice was certain that Jarrod had told Milton about her trip, but she never expected Milton to join her and fly to Wenkin.
He was really… Idle.
Once Milton settled into his seat, he gestured for the stewardess to leave, waving his hand.
Sensibly, she obeyed and closed the curtain behind her. Soon, Candice heard the cabin door shut, and the plane started to glide and take off.
It was evident that airline control was a lie. They had purposely waited for Milton to board.
Candice smirked. “You even have control over airline operations.”
“I own three airline companies in the aviation industry. I decide when the plane takes off,” Milton replied. Candice’s irony went completely unnoticed by him.
Candice was speechless.
“Why didn’t you inform me that you were going to Wenkin?” Milton asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice. “And why are you even going there? Is it related to Corless’s case? I specifically told you not to act alone. Why didn’t you listen?”
Candice didn’t want to entertain his questions. Why did she have to report everything to him?
“You’ve been to my company. Why didn’t you talk to me?” he interrogated.
Candice’s eyes narrowed, and her face grew pale. Talk to him? Didn’t she go upstairs to see him? And witness him flirting with Sigrid?
“I didn’t want to bother you,” she said, her tone harsh. Milton remained silent, simply observing her.
Candice glanced away and continued. “I’m going to the place where the incident happened to search for clues. Maybe the police missed something, or perhaps they deliberately overlooked something. What are you planning to do there?”

“I’ll keep an eye on you,” Milton replied.
Candice was left without words again.
The plane flew smoothly through the air. After some time, Candice inquired, “You did all those things, right? Claiming my seat had been sold, upgrading my seat to first class for free, and…”
“Delaying takeoff for airline control? Why didn’t you just take a private plane to Wenkin?”
Out of the blue, Milton reached out and pulled her towards him. “You left in such a hurry. I can’t arrange a temporary route for my private plane. Why did you buy the plane ticket with cash? You know ONEAIR is my company.”
“I am on a business trip and paid for the ticket with my own money. Did I inconvenience you?” Candice responded coldly, pulling her hand away from his grasp.
Milton frowned, frustrated by Candice’s sudden change in attitude. He had enjoyed their flirtatious conversation on the phone in the morning, where she seemed to rely on him. But now, she was all business again.
