Chapter 673
Chapter 673:
Once Paisley had left, Erica and Sigrid engaged in small talk, enquiring about the recent happenings in the Olson family. Milton remained silent, his gaze fixed on his phone, awaiting Candice’s response.
It appeared that Candice hadn’t checked her phone and consequently, she hadn’t responded.
Meanwhile, Candice sat in the private room, lost in her thoughts. When the door swung open, she instinctively assumed it was Milton. Her face lit up with joy and anticipation. He returned so quickly. Was his visit merely a casual greeting?
However, when she noticed the person, her enthusiasm was replaced with surprise. It was Paisley. Why would Sigrid’s mother come to see her in the private room?
Simultaneously, she received a text. She unlocked her phone and glanced at the screen. It was a message from Milton. She skimmed through the contents, realizing Paisley was seeking legal advice from her.
Before she had the chance to respond, Paisley entered. Paisley seemed to have transformed, exuding an aura of arrogance and authority. “You’re Candice, aren’t you? Do you mind if I sit and chat with you for a bit? I need to discuss something with you privately.”
Candice furrowed her brows. Paisley’s statement didn’t quite align with Milton’s message.
Paisley positioned herself across from Candice on the cushion without waiting for an invitation.
“Mrs. Olson, what brings you here? I can’t recall any shared business we might have,” Candice said calmly. Candice had a hunch that Paisley’s visit was tied to Sigrid and Milton, even though she found the encounter unexpected.
Paisley’s gaze swept over Candice, causing her to squirm slightly. It felt as though Paisley was appraising a product on a shelf.
“Sigrid mentioned you. You’re quite the renowned attorney. I was impressed by how you handled Erica’s case.”

Candice understood this was just an introductory pleasantry and responded, “Your words are kind. But Mrs. Olson, let’s cut to the chase, shall we?”
She had no interest in engaging in small talk with Paisley.
“Both of us are perceptive individuals. Allow me to be frank.” Casting a quick glance at Candice’s alluring physique, she continued, “I am aware that you are Milton’s sexual partner.”
Candice was taken aback and experienced a wave of humiliation washing over her. The term “sexual partner” stung like a slap. A lover implied emotions, but a sexual partner suggested only a physical connection.
“Don’t bother denying it. If I couldn’t discern that at my age, my existence would be pointless,” Paisley declared, placing her hand on the table with an air of superiority.
Candice’s expression turned icy as she retorted, “Who I am and what I do is none of your concern.”
“Ha-ha! Don’t misunderstand me. I mean no offense. In fact, I have a proposition that might interest you,” Paisley suggested, her experienced smile in place.
Furrowing her brows, Candice patiently awaited Paisley’s next words.
