Chapter 288
Chapter 288:
They hadn’t seen each other in a long time. Candice couldn’t believe Madilyn and Rachel had come to the Hope Law Firm to cause a scene. Didn’t they care about their family’s image? Why disturb a workplace of all places?
Bettina wasn’t in the building at the moment, so Candice had to deal with Madilyn and Rachel herself.
Madilyn was dressed in a well-fitting rose-red dress.
She hadn’t seen Candice since Milton kicked her out of the Royal Ballet Troupe. Now she worked at Harmony Hospital, doing back-office tasks she barely understood. She had studied dance for over a decade but was now a glorified clerk who didn’t know what she was doing most of the time. Madilyn refused to accept this fate.
But she and Rachel had come to confront Candice today over something far more serious.
Rachel came straight to the point and snapped, “Did you tell Greyson to move out?”
Candice was stunned. Greyson moved out? What did she mean? Had Greyson left the Harman family and moved into his own apartment?
But she had moved away.
Obviously, Madilyn and Rachel didn’t know Candice had gotten her own place. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come to her workplace to bother her.
This was ridiculous.
Candice sneered, “What does Greyson’s decision to move out have to do with me? That’s his business, not mine. And it’s not my fault he doesn’t listen to you. This is my office, and you’re disrupting everyone’s day. Please leave, or I’ll call security.”
But Rachel refused to back down. She bellowed, “What did you say to him? He tightened the purse strings on our family! He said he would purchase some group and take charge of all the accounts. It must have something to do with you, you scheming whore!”
This was the last straw for Rachel. In the past, she had been partly in charge of the family’s finances. She made a lot of money from it, supporting her lavish lifestyle. Even when the Harman family was at its lowest, she ensured she lived in luxury.

Now the family was wealthy again. Their monthly income soared, and there was more money than ever for Rachel to squander. However, Greyson took over all the accounts and instructed the finance department to give her and Madilyn only a fixed monthly allowance.
How could she tolerate such unfairness?
Candice frowned, wondering if Greyson intended to withdraw a large amount of cash to acquire the Blake Group. That could explain why he was stingy with his family. But no way—he hadn’t told her in advance.
Meanwhile, Madilyn said nothing and only stared at Candice with contempt.
It had been quite some time since they last saw each other. Candice had grown more beautiful than ever, now wearing high-end, custom ensembles probably worth more than a million dollars.
A few days ago, Madilyn noticed that Greyson had bought a new Dior necklace. She thought it was a gift for her, but she never saw that necklace again.
