Chapter 563
Chapter 563:
Unless…
But then, a sudden realization struck Greyson, and he hurriedly made his way to the second floor. Milton stood up after tucking Candice into bed.
Speaking softly, Greyson asked, “Did you purchase the Blake family’s villa? Did you restore it to its original state?”
Milton turned around and shrugged, saying, “So what? Do you have a problem with it?”
Narrowing his eyes, Greyson hadn’t expected Milton to invest so much time and effort into pursuing Candice.
“I’m taking her to the hospital,” Greyson declared, moving closer. “Step aside.”
Milton blocked Greyson’s path with one arm, firmly stating, “You just said she’ll be fine after some rest. Don’t make excuses. I won’t let you take her away. I’ll stay here to care for her.”
Casting a sidelong glance at Milton, Greyson sneered, “Do you have any medical knowledge?”
Turning his head, Milton looked deeply into Greyson’s eyes and replied, “I may not know as much as you do about medicine, but I understand that this is a mental illness. Medication can only alleviate symptoms, improve sleep, and manage anxiety, but it can’t cure the underlying cause.”
Pausing briefly, he added, “So, when can you cure a mental illness?”
Greyson was at a loss for words. Not only did Milton know that Candice had PTSD, but he had also taken the initiative to educate himself about it.
Assertively, Milton continued, “Furthermore, her mental condition hasn’t improved in the past three years. I’m afraid you may have contributed to that.”
Greyson’s fists tightened as he cursed to himself. He was left without words and didn’t know how to respond.
“I’ve been patient enough not to shut you out just now. Greyson, please leave. It’s sufficient that I’m here.” Milton requested Greyson’s departure.

Greyson sarcastically replied, “So, you’ve been aware of her mental illness for a while, but why did you make it worse for her? Don’t you understand the physical and emotional toll a miscarriage would have on a woman? At least I haven’t done anything to harm her physically.”
Milton immediately became irritated. “I said it must be a misunderstanding!”
“You can only say that once you present the evidence.” Greyson didn’t back down.
Even though he knew well in advance that Candice’s miscarriage was inevitable, even if nothing had happened to her at the ambassador’s wife’s birthday party. The fetus with abnormal development would eventually die. But he wouldn’t reveal this to Milton.
He would rather let this misconception forever separate their hearts.
“Although we’ve been high school classmates for three years, maybe you don’t know me very well. I’m good at enduring and even better at waiting for the right moment. When your relationship completely falls apart and reaches its end, she will naturally come back to me.” With a sneer, Greyson continued, “Since I revived the Harman family, I can also win her back. No matter how long it takes, I can wait.”
