Chapter 692
Chapter 692:
Recalling a past occasion when she had prepared breakfast for Milton, Candice remembered the care she had taken in roasting a piece of bread to perfection. However, on this day, she lacked the motivation to engage in such a task. She hastily devoured a piece of bread and filled her mouth with milk until it could hold no more.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, interrupting her quiet meal. Expecting the arrival of her takeout, Candice marveled at the speed of the delivery, as it typically took an hour to reach her at this time of day.
She hurried to the door.
As she swung the door open, her astonished gaze met none other than Erica. Caught off guard, Candice found herself unable to utter a single word, her mouth still filled with the remnants of milk and bread. Fully aware of her disheveled appearance, Candice realized she had not taken the time to change into more presentable attire. She was clad in loose-fitting casual home clothes with disheveled hair.
Candice had not anticipated that Erica would pay her an unexpected visit.
Erica glanced at Candice and queried, “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”
Upon asking, she calmly stepped over the threshold, changing her shoes and proceeding directly into the living room, passing Candice without a second thought.
Candice hurriedly swallowed the bread and milk, hastening to remove the crumbs from the corners of her mouth.
Watching as Erica made her way towards the living room, Candice let out a soft gasp of distress. It was too late to prevent her from witnessing the state of the living room. Neglected since the previous night, the room lay in disarray, its unkempt state on full display.
Milton’s coat, belt, and tie were discarded carelessly, while his bathrobe lay abandoned on the floor. Candice’s skirt from the night before, bearing a tear at the back, along with her undergarments, were haphazardly strewn across the coffee table. Blankets and pillows were scattered carelessly on the sofa.

Milton, who was a neat freak, typically kept the living room in impeccable order. Yet, on this occasion, having departed immediately after their lovemaking session for a business trip, he forgot all about it. Exhaustion held her in its clutches, making her sleep for hours. So it was extremely messy in the living room.
Erica, with weary steps, reached the sofa, only to halt in her tracks. There was no available space for her to settle upon. Surveying the disarray, she pieced together the events of the previous night, realizing just how passionate their sex must have been.
Arrogance and celibacy had always been defining traits of her son, but the revelation that her son possessed such a wild side left her, as a mother, utterly astounded. The scene before her eyes even caused her own cheeks to burn with embarrassment.
“Ahem.” She cleared her throat. Pointing towards the mess, Erica commanded, “Clean it up.”
Candice, consumed by shame, hastened to apologize, her voice trembling. “I’m sorry.”
