Chapter 189
Chapter 189:
When she reprimanded him in the dressing room, he didn’t get angry because he didn’t want to lose it there.
Now his pent-up rage was unleashed.
“Candice, please start acting like a normal woman!”
Candice gave him a blank look and stared rigidly at Milton.
Right now, the hooligans surrounded them, all brandishing long knives and glaring menacingly.
But Milton was arguing with her about right and wrong?
Candice frantically rubbed her forehead and said, “Come on, now. Is this really the time for an argument?”
“Yes!” Milton refused to back down and continued, “Let’s make things clear. Who’s in the wrong here? Is it me for meddling in your business? Or is it you?”
“Does it even matter who’s wrong?” Candice nearly tore her hair out in frustration. Communicating with Milton was so difficult.
“It does matter,” he insisted. “Just answer the question.”
“I…” Candice hesitated, unsure what to say. Admitting fault would be a small price to pay to avoid arguing in front of a group of dangerous hooligans, but it also felt like surrendering to Milton’s irrational demands. She couldn’t understand his thought process. What was he trying to achieve?
“Huh? What’s wrong?” Milton pressed on, unwilling to drop the issue. “Will you admit your mistake and promise not to repeat it?”
Candice clenched her jaw, frustrated. “Fine. I’m sorry. You win,” she relented.
“Promise me,” Milton demanded.
“What? Promise?” Candice was on the verge of losing her patience.
“Hey, are you two done?” the lead hooligan interrupted, irritated by their ignoring him as if they were alone.
Being ignored annoyed him.
“Shut up!” Milton snapped, anger flaring. He didn’t even spare the thug a glance.

Turning back to Candice, he continued, “I need a promise from you. You’re a lawyer, so you should know a verbal agreement doesn’t hold weight. Put it in writing, take a photo, and send it to my email.”
Candice couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity.
“Didn’t you say you don’t have an email?”
“I have one now,” Milton replied straight-faced.
Candice was speechless.
This man was impossible to deal with. She felt like hitting him on the head with a stick.
Just then, the young bald man leading the group had enough. He brandished his long knife, pointing it menacingly at Milton. “You son of a bitch think you can disregard me, huh? Let me show you what real power looks like!”
