Chapter 567
Chapter 567:
“You should leave too. I’ll be fine.”
Candice turned around, about to head back upstairs. Milton grabbed her hand out of the blue and asked, “What’s your plan for today? I don’t have any important tasks to handle.”
Candice swiftly pulled her hand away and replied, “I’m going to take a bath. I hope you’ll be gone by the time I come downstairs again. I need some alone time. Please don’t disturb me.”
Without another word, she ascended to the second floor, paying no attention to Milton.
She disliked revealing her vulnerable side to others, and this was the second time she had a breakdown in front of him. This time, it was even more severe than before. She believed her condition had improved, but yesterday’s sudden trigger had instantly plunged her back into her previous state.
She didn’t want Milton to witness her in such a helpless state. She believed no man would desire a woman like her who had a mental illness and struggled to overcome it.
In her eyes, she was a failure.
As she entered the bathroom and closed the door, she turned on the hot water.
Until that moment, she had managed to keep her composure, but once inside, her body began to tremble uncontrollably.
The large mirror reflected her shaky reflection. The intense triggering from the previous day hadn’t completely subsided.
After a while, she submerged herself in the warm water-filled bathtub. Psychologists had taught her that warm water could alleviate anxiety and induce relaxation. However, it seemed to have little effect on her. Whenever she closed her eyes, the horrific scene of yesterday’s car accident would vividly replay in her mind. Startled, she forced herself to open her eyes again, determined not to let her guard down.
She didn’t dare to stay in the hot water for too long due to the thinning oxygen in the bathroom, fearing she might faint.

Getting out of the bathtub, she grabbed a towel and dried herself off. Suddenly, a wave of dizziness swept over her, causing her to lose her balance.
“Ah!” Unable to hold back, she let out a cry as she slipped forward.
“Boom!” With a loud thud, she crashed onto the slick floor.
Milton didn’t leave. Instead, he prepared a simple breakfast downstairs.
Greyson had bought the ingredients the previous night. When Greyson left at night, he thought he wouldn’t return. However, Greyson had actually gone to buy ingredients, milk, and fruits.
Candice’s fridge had nothing but water.
Greyson seemed to understand Candice’s personality well.
After Greyson left, Milton found all the instant noodles in Candice’s home, packed them up, and threw them away. He prohibited her from consuming these unhealthy foods.
When he threw the instant noodles at the door, he coincidentally met Greyson, who had bought a lot of things.
