Chapter 587
Chapter 587:
In the land of Anoh, the Royal Garden Corporation ruled with absolute power, and expansion seemed unnecessary. However, Milton had a different vision in mind. He desired to join forces with the influential Olson family abroad and make a mark on the global stage. Candice took a deep breath, feeling a sense of melancholy.
She couldn’t help but wonder what she truly meant to him. It became apparent that she was merely a plaything to him, someone he entertained himself with during his free time. Even though he seemed slightly interested in her now and treated her well, providing her with the finest things, at most, she was just a kept lover to him. The request he made, asking her to have an abortion, was unforgivable. She couldn’t find it in her heart to pardon him for such a matter.
She berated herself for being so foolish, repeatedly falling in love with him.
She realized she had been overthinking things all along. As Jarrod parked the car at the gate of the airport, he stepped out and opened the door for Candice. Reminding her of their arrival, he said, “Miss Blake, we’ve reached our destination.”
Only then did Candice snap out of her daze. She swiftly concealed her lapse in concentration and replied, “Alright, thank you. You can head back now.” After stepping out of the car, she made her way into the airport.
Jarrod drove away.
Candice approached the inquiry desk.
“Hello, I’d like to purchase a ticket to Wenkin. Could you please check which airline offers the next available flight?” The receptionist kindly responded, “Hello, miss. Please proceed to the ONEAIR Airline counter to purchase your ticket. There’s a flight departing in an hour. The next one is scheduled for tonight.”
Candice felt a sense of detachment.
ONEAIR Airline happened to be Milton’s company. Wherever she went, she found herself within his domain, unable to escape his control.
Left with no other option, Candice reluctantly walked away and bought her ticket at the ONEAIR Airline counter.
Candice approached the counter and pulled out a wad of cash from her bag to purchase an airplane ticket. “I need the earliest flight to Wenkin. Economy class,” she said. The airline staff member looked at her with surprise but remained silent. It was unusual for them to see customers buying tickets with cash. Most people paid for their tickets with credit cards.

Candice was aware that her behavior seemed peculiar, but she had no other choice. Her credit and debit cards had been upgraded to VVIP status by Milton. In his company, she wasn’t allowed to use them. However, she didn’t want to rely on his money, so she carried a significant amount of cash with her every day.
It was because she always had cash in her bag that she was able to toss a thick stack of bills at him after their encounter on the yacht.
Shaking her head, she pushed those thoughts aside. The airline staff member handed Candice her ticket and said, “Please keep your ticket.” Candice took the ticket.
She proceeded to the check-in counter. Fortunately, she didn’t need to check in any luggage. As a result, she quickly passed the security check and arrived at the boarding gate.
The plane was crowded today, with many passengers on board. Candice found her seat in the second-to-last row. As more people boarded, the cabin quickly filled up.
