Chapter 885
Chapter 888:
Out of the blue, Candice pulled a document from her bag. The document, tucked into a mustard-colored envelope, was neatly sealed.
“Inside lies some inside information. Would either of you care to hear more?” she asked.
Milton, slightly taken aback, wasn’t aware that Candice had something up her sleeve.
“I’m all ears. Go ahead,” Boden responded, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Anson, too, was intrigued and quickly asked, “What inside information?”
Candice handed the envelope to Anson, saying, “You both must be familiar with the Karen Steel Company.”
“Indeed,” Anson confirmed. “It’s a steel enterprise that ranks just below our company. I heard they faced some issues recently, causing their exports to dip. Is there anything wrong?”
Candice replied, “Yes. Through an insider, I discovered that they’re entangled in a tax evasion scandal. They have a shell company that’s secretly sending vast amounts of funds abroad. The authorities have already discovered proof. It’s likely that the Karen Steel Company’s stocks will nosedive soon. You two might want to consider acquiring the company.”
Seeing their puzzled looks, she explained, “Once the prosecutors reveal the evidence and freeze their assets, the Karen Steel Company will be teetering on the brink of collapse. The envelope contains the company’s debt ratio. It’s manageable. I estimate the timing is perfect. With an investment of around 20 billion dollars, we could take advantage of the situation to gain control of the Karen Steel Company. We could get it for a steal.”
Anson stood there, dumbfounded, saying, “Taking over the Karen Steel Company? That’s incredible. If we pull it off, our company’s steel, water condensing, and construction sectors will reach new heights. We’d essentially take the lead in the world’s steel industry.”
“A grand vision indeed! It’s mind-boggling.” Boden’s eyes were alight with ambition. “Miss Blake, you’ve truly dropped a bombshell. That’s impressive. You’ll be leading this acquisition, right?”

Candice gestured at Milton and replied, “Well, if he’s on board, I can begin drafting the plan within a few days.”
Milton scowled upon hearing this. He wrapped his arm around Candice’s shoulder, squeezing her. He shot her a stern look, annoyed that she hadn’t consulted him beforehand.
Candice playfully stuck out her tongue and whispered, “I wanted to surprise you.”
Milton shot her a disapproving glare and grumbled, “Who asked you to constantly take care of my business? The company has designated personnel for that.”
Milton didn’t want Candice to think he was exploiting her for financial gain. He wasn’t short of money.
“Excellent. Since all the directors are here today, I think it’s best to gather them now. We can vote and get the process started. We need to act fast on this acquisition.”
Despite his age, Anson was invigorated by the opportunity.
Boden concurred, “There’s a small conference room adjacent to the banquet hall. I’ll alert some key members to meet there in about ten minutes. It won’t disrupt the celebration party. Let’s keep the acquisition plan limited to essential personnel for now.”
