Chapter 656
Chapter 656:
As her figure receded, a chuckle escaped from Milton. She was a woman of many facets. This was how she was meant to be.
He turned around, heading back to his Bentley, setting course for the Royal Garden Corporation. His office had not seen him for several days now. His plate was full for the foreseeable future. He was set on bringing down both Corless and Warren Building Materials.
Meanwhile, Candice had reached the courthouse entrance. The doors had just swung open, and the crowd was gradually entering.
She was about to enter.
Suddenly, she felt a tug from behind.
She was taken aback. Milton couldn’t possibly have followed her; he should have departed by now. Who could possibly want to halt her now?
Upon turning around, she was met with the grim visage of Greyson.
Taken aback, Candice asked, “Greyson, what brings you here?”
She hadn’t seen Greyson in quite some time. What was his reason for showing up at the courthouse?
Dressed in a somber dark grey suit, Greyson appeared more melancholic than usual. When he saw Candice, he noticed a vibrancy in her that had been absent during their recent separation. It seemed her PTSD symptoms had eased without any external intervention.
For the first time, he saw her wearing a judicial robe, a sight that added an air of authority to her presence. The combination of her long, straight hair, the black robe, and her icy demeanor gave her an aura of grandeur.
She was radiant, competent, and absolutely mesmerizing.
He extended the document he was holding toward Candice and said, “Corless’ attorneys falsely claimed that Belinda took a fall and falsified her medical records. Moreover, Belinda was initially treated in Wenkin before being moved to Ploville. The original hospital records have been manipulated. I’ve uncovered the truth. The proof is right here.”

Candice was taken aback. She accepted the document from Greyson, mildly surprised. She hadn’t expected him to voluntarily help her uncover this information.
“How did you come across this? Was it Bettina or perhaps my assistant?” she asked, visibly perplexed.
Greyson responded coldly, “Why didn’t you come to me if you needed help? You know there’s hardly anything I can’t handle in the medical field. Didn’t it occur to you to ask for my assistance?”
Candice replied, “No. The medical report wasn’t crucial. The case could be argued effectively with other evidence. It wasn’t a priority. I didn’t want to inconvenience you.”
“Inconvenience? Not a priority?” Greyson’s expression hardened as he said, managing a sardonic smile, “So, I’m also not a priority?”
Candice was taken aback by his words. That wasn’t what she meant to imply.
“Have you been spending time with Milton lately? Are you two living together?” Greyson asked.
