Chapter 881
Chapter 884:
Raul’s words were meant to provoke, and they did. He made it clear that Bettina no longer belonged to Bart.
As expected, Bart couldn’t contain his fury. He raised his fist, ready to strike Raul on the spot.
Coldly, Raul added,
“By the way… don’t forget—your surname is Glyn, not Lopez. Go back to your family. Oh, wait—never mind. The battles within your own house are just as brutal. It’s rumored…”
“That your father’s youngest son is the most favored one. Healy shall inherit the Universe Financial Group, not you. No wonder you are confined to the Royal Garden Corporation.”
Raul’s smile barely concealed the harshness behind his words, each one striking at Bart’s most fragile nerves.
Unable to contain his fury any longer, Bart hurled a punch at Raul, who still wore a mocking grin.
Raul made no effort to dodge. He was curious to see what impression Bart’s outburst would leave on the directors inside the banquet hall. Bart would finally shatter the gentlemanly facade he had so carefully maintained. It was a necessary exposure, a moment that would reveal the despicable side Bart had hidden for so long.
Let them see it. A few punches were no big deal.
Just as Bart’s fist began its decisive motion, a sudden force intervened.
With unwavering determination, Bettina pushed Raul aside and stepped in between them, forming a human barrier against Bart’s incoming blow.
“No, don’t you dare lay a finger on him!” she shouted.
Her arms wrapped protectively around Raul’s waist, holding him close.
Despite her delicate frame, her spirit radiated strength.
Bart’s fist froze midair, just inches from the back of Bettina’s head.

He stared at her, stunned. She stood before him, shielding another man without hesitation.
His chest heaved violently, barely containing the chaos within.
How could she have intervened with such audacity?
How could she?!
At that moment, Bart was upset. Had he given himself too much credit? Had he assumed that no matter what he did, Bettina would patiently stand by him?
In Bart’s mind, it was clear—Bettina couldn’t live without him. She was the one who had fallen for him first, after all. He had taken her for granted.
He couldn’t accept it, though. He was certain that once he reclaimed what was his, he would drive Raul out and ensure that Bettina could never slip from his grasp.
All he needed was a little patience.
This thought soothed his frustration, and Bart’s impulsiveness slowly faded.
