Chapter 944
Chapter 950:
He caught up with her and grabbed her arm tightly.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” he asked with concern.
Candice turned abruptly at the sound of the familiar voice. She was shocked to find Greyson here.
“Why are you here? I didn’t invite you,” Candice gasped, her voice cold.
“I just wanted to watch over you in secret,” he replied softly.
Another lightning strike lit up Candice’s face. Her lips were trembling and pale, her breathing heavy and labored.
The strong wind swept over her delicate body, and she almost collapsed.
Greyson supported her, his concern evident as he asked, “Tell me, what’s wrong?” His heart ached, and he felt a sudden sense of regret. Did Sigrid go too far and upset her?
Suddenly, Greyson felt despicable. He had pushed Candice into desperation and made her suffer. Was this really what he wanted? Did he want to see her in such a miserable state? No. He didn’t want to hurt her again.
Candice ignored him, looking around. It seemed impossible to hail a cab.
Then, she noticed Greyson’s car by the road.
“Lend me your car. I’m going to find him,” Candice demanded. Since she had been with Greyson for a long time, she knew where he kept his car keys.
Rummaging through his left pocket, Candice fished out Greyson’s car keys and went straight to his car.
Greyson was stunned and couldn’t react in time. When he regained his senses and tried to catch up with her, she was already near the car. He attempted to stop her. “What happened? Didn’t Milton come? Are you in any condition to drive? Where do you want to go? I’ll drive you there,” he offered worriedly.
However, Candice refused, “No, thanks. I can handle it.”
She rushed to the driver’s seat, closed the door, locked it, and started the car.

Meanwhile, Greyson was locked outside the car, tapping on the window and shouting, “Candice, calm down. It’s too dangerous for you to drive!”
Unfortunately, Candice turned a deaf ear to him. Stepping heavily on the gas pedal, she sped into the darkness.
Amidst the growling thunder, the heavens wept, drenching the windshield with raindrops cascading like a waterfall.
The road ahead blurred in the deluge.
Candice, driving full throttle, had no destination in mind. She was simply seeking her lover, without any clear direction.
Greyson, standing roadside, watched Candice’s irrational departure and found himself soaked by the sudden rain.
“Damn!”
Cursing under his breath, he worried about her safety and sought refuge at a bus stop.
